He has the highest xGA in the league, even more than the Coyotes' goalies. The Ducks are atrocious defensively and have been atrocious for at least a half decade now for some reason.

Put this guy on even an average defensive club and he'd go right back to looking like his old self.
I'm pretty sure the backup goalies in Anaheim in recent years have better advanced stats than Gibson playing behind the same team.

He's been at the bottom of the league for xGA the past three seasons; I'm certainly confused what point you're making if xGA is your stat.

19/20 - 82
20/21 - 91
21/22 - 112

Umm, what? He's 51st in the league, that's behind Frankie.
NatualStatTrick has much different statistics on their website. Last season he had the 4th highest xGA behind only Merzlikins, Demko, and Hellebuyck. Season before that 6th highest. Before that 2nd highest. So far this season the highest until today when Reimer passed him.

Francouz had better numbers here than Grubauer. It doesn't make him a better goaltender.

Give those backup goalies the same number of starts and their numbers will go down.

And theres also a big difference in the quality of starts as well typically.

Welcome to the Avalanche at the deadline Conor Garland!

Here's your welcome bucket.

Authentic Stanley Cup ring is up for auction.

I dunno tho, that’s a lot of money to spend on something you personally didn’t earn.

The person with enough money to burn on something like this didn't earn all of it (and in some cases, ANY of it) so it kinda fits.

Maybe @The Kingslayer can bid then, because without his heroic reverse jinxes, there's no way we win that Cup.

Stolarz I believe only played 28 games last season. Gibson played 56. The advanced stats mean nothing if you don't apply context.

I know it's early in the year but I'm just going to say Dallas is going to be the biggest pain in the ass to play against all year. I want absolutely no part of Oettinger, Pavelski or DeBeor come playoff time.
I remain glad that we didn't see them in the first round last year. Even though we probably would have gotten past them, we wouldn't have gotten out of that series unbloodied.

Oettinger is going to be a problem for a long time. Add in Wallstedt and Askarov and goaltending could be a royal pain in the ass in this division down the road.

They picked up a franchise dman/winger/goalie all in 2017. And they have have some amazing prospects in Mavrik/W. Johnson/Stank coming up the pipeline. Incredible what great drafting can do.

Man, it’s depressing watching how much better guys like Pinto and W. Johnson look compared to Newhook. What a waste of a pick.

Eh, I don't begrudge them the pick, he was fairly high-ranked by most pundits, it never felt like a reach.

And to be fair he should be a good complementary scoring winger, just not a 2nd line center.
