Lose the OT faceoff, watch the dipshit Kraken skate around with the puck for 5 boring awful minutes.
You had to bring that up, and just when I was finally less irritated by it. I've never seen a more braindead, conservative approach to overtime. Did they think they had a better shot at winning the shootout? If I'm the GM I'm figuring out if that was on coaching or the players, and then solving it from there.

Maybe it started out as a good idea because the Avs were tired at the end of a back to back? They thought they'd try to possess the puck and pick their spots. But then the Avs had a couple of break aways and they thought better of picking their spots - so the result is what everyone is complaining about. It worked out for the Avs. They had some tired legs.

It's on coaching. Every coach in the league tells their players to do what the Kraken did. Obviously the Kraken took it overboard by literally never attacking because the Avs were defending well but every coach wants that. Be as cautious as possible, take it to a shootout if need be.

It's why the NHL needs to tweak 3v3 overtime. I believe once you enter the zone you should not be allowed to exit with the puck. Otherwise it's a faceoff in your own zone.

That 3v3 idea seems like a good one. I want teams to take their best shots till someone wins it. Playing possession like that in sudden death seems counterproductive to what the league and fans actually want to have happen.

I think this would be a very positive change. Even using the red line would be better than what they have now.

Glad to hear Bruce is still up for it. I wondered if this experience was tough enough for him to say F it and retire.

Could see jobs opening up Ottawa and Columbus to name a few. I'd love to see him behind the NYR bench, but don't know if Drury is ready to dismiss Gallant unless they completely flame out in the post season.

They didnt want to risk losing the puck at all in that OT which is stupid because you rather take your chances in a shootout with Mikko and Mackinnon on the other side? Ok haha

Honestly blows my mind. The Avs easily had the two best shooters for the shootout AND the way better shootout goalie. Why try to get it to that?

Its part of the Seattle's blue collar mentality. Lots of hoping and trying to be skilled, but without skill
