Paul doesn't have to stay there at all. Just move aside and let the goalie stop it. There's 15 seconds left. Bouchard sent a message that if the Lightning want to play like assholes all night and think they can get away with it, they're wrong. I wish he had time to fire a third.

I think that was just an awkward chuckle meant to try and ease the obvious tension in the room. Bruce tries to smile a little as he says that, hence the attempt to try and keep it a little lighter, that's my takeaway. No one in that room is mocking him.

Its beyond ridiculous what Vancouver management has done to Boudreau. Just completely throwing him under the bus essentially.


They've known they're going to fire him for weeks if not months now, yet they still leave him behind the bench and still pass blame for Vancouvers struggles almost entirely on him this year. Truly embarrassing. They've easily passed the Sens as Canada's biggest joke franchise and are quickly racing towards the bottom of the barrel across the entire league.

Rutherford and Aquilini are a disgrace.

Ugh, so stupid of them and so messed up for a lifer like Boudreau.

Tocchet must really love the smell of hockey gear and ice to give up his cushy TV job to join this clown show. Then again, he had to play Shaq to Bissonette's Barkley on TV and that probably is enough to make you switch careers again.

I dunno about that. Boudreau left a cushy TV gig to coach the Canucks... A lot of the guys you see on TV would still love to be back behind the bench or back as a GM or somewhere on a teams front office, they just dont have the opportunity at the time so they take the TV jobs hoping to see something else come up. It happens quite a bit. We saw it with Brian Burke, McGuire, Torts, etc.

This job though? I don't know about you, but if I'm a sea captain looking for a job I wouldn't hop aboard the ship taking on water with the current captain slowly walking the plank in plain sight.

That's a fair point... But still yea, absolutely. The thing is these guys all believe they're great at what they do, they would 100% be confident they can step in and turn the ship around... If they weren't 100% confident on that, they probably wouldn't leave the TV job. Torts left to coach Philly, Boudreau left to coach Vancouver in essentially the same position a year ago, McGuire went to Ottawa.


The other thing is rarely do good positions open up on teams that are doing well.

No. Stupid Canucks. How hard was it to fire him and leave an assistant coach there until the new coach takes the job? f***ing classless to leave Bruce there while everyone knows they are interviewing someone else, especially in Canada with all the press and the attention.

I really feel bad for him.

By not firing him despite everything Rutherford basically decided that Boudreau doesn't have any dignity.

To me this is far, far worse than what the Panthers did to Gallant that night in Carolina.

No kidding. Whose the asshole that laughed? Mans about to lose his job and is emotional and perhaps thinking this is his last crack at it but yah lets have a f***in chuckle. Oh man.

Especially considering it's Bruce Boudreau. Treating ANY head coach like this would be disrespectful, the fact that it's a veteran coach and such a nice character makes it even worse.

I think we are a near lock for 7... upto 12/13 is not out of the question.

Last season had 4 50+, 18-19 had 2 (50 and 51 goals), 17-18 had ZERO. The only player between 2013 and 2018 that scored 50+ was Ovi.
