52 PP points cray.

Yeah, that's insane. Over half his points are on the PP.

Like I said, they're legit and shouldn't be taken lightly as a team but RNH is just one guy I can't worry about. Even last year when he was good statistically in the playoffs I never felt like he was a threat.

Edmonton looks legit. However, if you can stay out of the box and have finishers/match their scoring they can be beaten.

Edmonton definitely scares me the most out of any Western Conference team.

That said, they aren't some big bad boogeyman. The Avs have beaten the Oilers in 10 of the last 11 games the teams have played. Swept them last year and two of those games were without Kadri, all 4 games with Francouz in goal.

Even after adding Ekholm I don't believe the Oilers can handle the Avs offensive attack.

The Avs simply need to be healthy. THAT is the major question. I personally don't think they will be and thus wouldn't beat the Oilers. However, if healthy I have the Avs in 6 if the two teams met.

Edmonton doesn't scare me for the same reason Vegas no longer scares me. Their 1C is huge liability when he doesn't have the puck.

That's not an issue so long as the supporting cast around him can mitigate that particular issue. That wasn't the case before, it might be now.

And McDavid is at the point where his play with the puck is so good it matters a hell of a whole lot less about his play without.

IMO it comes down to goaltending. So long as it isn't a complete disaster, Edmonton's got a very real chance to emerge atop the conference.

Last year the Oilers limped into the WCF with injuries to Draisaitl, Nurse, a banged-up-to-hell Smith in goal, and instead of Ekholm they had the hollowed-out corpse of Duncan Keith, who was finally put out to pasture by Artturi Lehkonen (I'll always take grand satisfaction from that as I am an avowed Keith-hater). Those particular weaknesses are not present this time around.

A healthy Drai can basically give the Oilers 2 1st lines if they want. One of those lines going head to head with Compher.
And the wingers on that line are going to be 2 out of Lehkonen, Nichuskin, Rantanen and Landeskog. You could puc MacDermid on the middle there, Draisaitl doesn't scare me in that sense.

A one legged Drai had 6 assists in 4 games against the Avs last year... if he's healthy, he's scary regardless of who he is playing against.

He's a damn good player. But our top-line wingers are pretty damn good, top of the league. Edmonton doesn't have that. We can compensate for Compher with good wingers, and great D.

All of this depends on health, obviously. Because if Landy is not contributing, and/or we are missing other guys too, it would get very difficult indeed. But I maintain that if healthy we are still a class above Edmonton, and frankly I wouldn't be scared about anyone in the East at that point either. Not even Boston.
