Everything the Canucks do is just bizarre. Friedman reports Tocchet is going to be the next guy there and Rutherford comes out and admits they've looked at and talked to replacements. Meanwhile, Boudreau is still the HC of the team because they won't fire him yet.
Yea, that's pretty heartless. "We're about to fire you but right now we're interviewing people to replace you. Meanwhile you gotta stay there".

I kind of feel bad for Bruce.

It's more of a farce than heartless. But what's Boudreau supposed to do but, while coaching on the bench, stare blankly into a zooming-in camera for another famous gif?

I'll always remember this from Odjick

"Odjick is going nuts"

He was a very cool guy off the ice

Color me not surprised

The Chapter 7 bankruptcy filing offers a glimpse into the couple's financial problems, including money owed to no fewer than 50 people and companies, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.

Canucks are in general showing us all how you don’t do business. I honestly think that’s a BC thing having spent a good amount of time working and staying in that province.

Plus their GM publicly admitting to wanting Bedard.

That was the least problematic part of that entire presser.

People lauding Rutherford for his brutal honesty, I call bullshit on that. I think he's as disingenuous and shifty as they come, and he won't admit what's readily obvious--he's not really in charge. Aquilini is pulling his strings.

The Canucks more than any team in this league need Brian Burke. Love him or hate him he'll at least pick a f***ing direction and go all in.

Ya I thought presser was pretty awful. Throw your coach under the bus yet again, throw your Captain under the bus and accuse him of essentially being greedy, openly announce you want to lose, but also shut down any plans of a true proper rebuild.

Just a really bad PC all around and if I was a Canuck player I'd want out at this point and if I was a fan I'd probably be taking an extended break from the sport.

That's literally the only guy I could see telling Aquilini to sit down and shut the f*** up, but that's precisely why the Canucks would NEVER bring him back.

Interesting words from Tolvanen, who has some not-great things to say about the Preds. Said he was getting jerked around the lineup and being asked to be a checker one night, a scorer the next.

This kinda highlights a very odd thing to me: David Poile is basically on his last chance to win that elusive Stanley Cup and he goes all in with...John Hynes!!???

The weird thing about Hynes is, there probably isn't a better coach in the league who can craft a proper rush offense. NHL Network highlighted the simple move of how they convert 3-on-2s into 2-on-1s, and his offenses in both New Jersey and Nashville are mostly one-and-done affairs that rely on key players getting hot and hitting high percentages. Once those players come back to Earth, the rest of his scheme appears exposed. Not sure why people keep thinking a guy that specialized makes for a good head coach.
