I really don’t see how anyone could be content with the team as it stands. The entire top 6 is producing at career-best levels, and if they go cold for a few games this team can’t score. The Avs need forward depth, and that’s assuming that the Avs have no more injuries (high hopes)

The Manson trade was awesome, but Sakic needs to do more.
If they go cold, we lose regardless of minor to moderate upgrades to the bottom 6.

The Giordano trade involved Seattle, Ottawa, Vancouver and Toronto...for cap purposes. Toronto gets Blackwell and Giordano

Let's take this ridiculous take piece by piece:

I will admit the O'Reilly trade didn't pan out, as all they have left on the roster from it is JT Compher. In Sakic's defense, it was a player that wanted to be moved, had no intention of every staying long term and had been a holdout.

Worse from the Duchene trade? Hmmm... a Top 4 defenseman on most NHL teams (Girard), a draft pick that turned out to be Bo Byram, even a goaltender that actually played for them in the playoffs (Hammond). I am puzzled as to how that has made the Avs worse given that Duchene commanded 8 million per and has won exactly nothing. Most consider that trade a key cog to building them into a contender.

Zadorov went for Saad, who put up 20+ goals and was a Top 6 forward last season.

Cole was a wash and a cap move.

Graves could have been taken by Seattle for nothing. A TBD 2nd rounder and a player would is still young (Maltsev) and could become a bottom 6 player is not nothing.

Not counting the O'Reilly trade which was brutal and letting Stastny go for nothing;

Girard and Byram for Duchene? Girard has been horrendous this year. Byram can't stay healthy and Duchene has 32 goals and 31 assists this year.

I don't care what Saad did last year. He isn't here anymore while Zadorov is playing an important role for Calgary.

Cole is probably better than EJ, Murray and JJ and Graves is much better than all of them.

We could have kept Z or Graves and not have to send a 2nd and a good young Dman in Helleson for a pending UFA in Manson.

If we can AT LEAST get one 3rd liner then that will be better than nothing. Because it looks like they still want Compher to run on the 3rd line for whatever reason. But if Sleepy Joe is done trading then we aren’t going any where in the post season. If that happens then I agree that he would be a failure of a GM.

Most contenders have blown their load and there are still a decent amount of rentals available. Think prices tomorrow will be more reasonable for the less sought after names.
Let’s hope. I’d say they need 2-3 Fs to really go for it.

Loath to say this but from a purely players added standpoint that is a nice pickup by Toronto.

Not looking for a cliff to jump off just yet but the clock is ticking on yet another trade deadline failure.

I really hope we're not done. Another forward would be nice. A 3c that could step up and play 2c if Kadri does get suspended again would be ideal. I love Kads, but his suspension history has and always is a concern. Also anything that gets Bura out of the top 6 would be great. He really just brings down any line he's on when he's not on one of his heaters.

So Vancouver traded Hamonic for a 3rd and then a 3rd for Dermott. Interesting.

Florida added a top 4 dman, bottom 4 dman, the best player on the market in giroux and still has room to do more because of LTIR money from ekblad. Tampa went all in when kucherov went on LTIR and spend their assets every deadline. Tampa has back to back cups to show for it and Florida looks poised to come out of the east barring bad goaltending.

You didn’t answer my question

The thread title on the main board is a good laugh. Every time I refresh there's new stuff added.

Go play your NHL 22 on Playstation or X-Box. Your logic is way off and you have vastly overrated the names you've mentioned. Not to mention ignoring that players like Duchene and O'Reilly (among others) would have hit UFA status by now and been hard to keep in the fold. Hellson is a total what if at this point AND had indicated he wasn't inclined to even sign his ELC with Colorado because their prospect pool on defense is that deep. Manson is an experienced, Top 4 guy that helps you win NOW. And, as noted, Graves likely gets plucked by Seattle if they'd kept him. Sakic knew that and got a return on him instead of losing him for nothing.

Do you need to be navigated through what a cup winning team looks like? Sturm, Nak, O’Connor, compher are 4th line players at best and currently make up a large portion of our 3rd line. Our bottom 6 doesn’t compare to even the flames let alone the east teams.

The longer Sakic waits, the tougher the market gets as teams get more desperate. He's never been one to go into a bidding war but he needs to make this year the exception.
