I didn't realize Copp was nearly 28. Go for 3x7 or 4x7?I don’t see any reason why Copp would take 6x1 here. If it’s a one or two year deal it’s gonna have to be like 8+ I think.

He’s going to want and get term from someone whoever it is. 7x4 might work, but would he rather that or $6x7/8 which I think is pretty likely.I didn't realize Copp was nearly 28. Go for 3x7 or 4x7?
So how much is Lehkonen worth after this season and his last two playoff runs?
Used to think he'd get the Compher contract but I'm no longer thinking that. IMO if we want 3+ years it's going to require an AAV in the mid 4's.

However I could see Sakic signing him for less on a short term contract (1-2 years).
I still think Philly will give Naz way to much money. But NY would also make sense.I've always had a feeling Kadri and NYR are a match made in heaven. Naz is a big city personality and Drury has been looking to toughen up the Rangers.
If they can squeeze him in, they probably let both Strome and Copp go. In which case, maybe Joe looks at Copp as Kadri's replacement. We heard he was pursuing him at the deadline.
Nice having both.My point on this is simply 1D is more important than 1C. It's not that 1C's aren't important too or that every team with a 1D wins.
You guys might be bitter but I'd still take Giroux here this summer. Good fit and he likely isn't motivated by money.
Yep. They probably cut off the rest of this quote.
“But, I’ve since realized that playing for the Colorado Avalanche gives me a better chance. The defence in Florida, simply isn’t good enough. Not to mention their stars just don’t come though in big moments.”
Absolutely yes to Puljujarvi if he's actually available and the price is right. He had a really good season regardless of who he was actually on the ice with. Yeah, he sucked in the playoffs but pretty much everyone did going up against arguably the best team in the league. I think he'd be good on the Avs in the top nine.
I don't really like the Nichushkin comp but one way I think fits it that Puljujarvi has been written off because of his reputation when the fact is he's no longer that guy, who was rightfully criticized at one point. He's a RH shot too!
Agreed. I would take him for sure. I think this coaching staff could get a lot out of him.
No way Edmonton trades him to Colorado though. I think that’s the absolute last team they would trade him too.
Yeah, I'd happily take a flier on the guy. I think it'd help him so much to be around Rantanen and Lehkonen, too. The "low hockey IQ" really gets overblown. He showed he can play with McDavid, get into the right scoring areas, get in on the forecheck, be on the right side of the puck more often than not. All of that is high hockey IQ.Am I watching the same Puljujarvi as everyone? Do we really want someone with that low of a hockey IQ suiting up for us? No thanks, hard pass. A guy I'd take a flier on as a 'Nuke-lite' would be E. Svechnikov, and he's shown he can produce with talented players. Kubalik is the guy i'd look at for any kind of scoring boost.
lol okay, a lot of that sounds like NHL common sense. How about in the defensive end? Are you forgetting that blatant turnover to Landeskog? After seeing the success of guys like Lehkonen and Nuke, I know Sakic will never go after a Pulju type so I'm not worried. But I really never understood the infatuation with him here. Take away his draft position and I wonder if there's still the same hype. The "low hockey IQ" really gets overblown. In an ideal world, I'd rather try and get Hintz for an all Finnish 2nd line.
Lehkonen-Hintz- rantanen

The only appealing thing about Poolparty is his physical assets, and his shot isn't even that great. Tools, no toolbox. And frankly it doesn't seem like his non-hockey IQ is very high either
