Interesting trade idea. Florida need LHD and Avs need RHD, so that part works. With Barkov-Bennett in the middle they might also like the fact that Newhook is looking more like a winger.

Girard's injury will hopefully highlight the value of having Byram on the left side of the D. It also makes Sakic look like a genius for having procured enough depth in Murray, JJ, MacDermid and MacDonald.

If any of the other PO teams took a hit to a D-man of Girard's caliber then it'd seriously affect their chances of winning the SC. It'll affect the Avs too but not as much as any other team.

Kind of makes you wonder about the Avs pursuit of smaller D-men going forward. I immediately went to the summary at Elite Prospects on Behrens. Sounds like the dude has a motor that won't quit and that the kid can skate.

Too bad that MacDermid is a really bad hockey players . Would be nice to have him in the lineup just to cool down a few Blues players.

I highly doubt Florida is that dumb... they have a smart management team and Lundell's contract will help them in the next couple years. If they were dumb though, I'd pay an absurd price. He's a future Selke winner.

The PP needs a legit QB to get some production. If they produced at 20% there, they are winning this series 2-1 and would have won the Caps series in 5. If I was them, I'd work on ditching Weegar or Montour to grab Letang.

I really don't like the coaching job done by Bruno at all. Doing the bare minimum, if that. Cannot believe this guy is an Adams finalist.
