Dvorak's line plays a bit more at 5v5 than Monahan's line thought.
True, both Evans and Monahan play pk (edit they all do actually, not sure where to find special team minutes, will look up nhl.com)

edit 2

pk toi =

Evans 2:43
Dvorak 2:17
Monahan 1:35

I mean he’s still playing 12-13 mins a game. It’s not like they are doing to him what the Kraken are doing to Wright. He needs to be given more trust and a slightly bigger role. But he’s not wasting away.
He is avg less than 11mins and only had 9:26/10:33 in the last two games. He isn’t wasting away but it seem like we are getting closer to that edge

Not as good as being with Monahan, but still a lot better than being with Evans and Pezzeta.

Now, if only Gally can make a proper 2-foot pass...

Gallagher's passes are midget AAA quality at this stage. A huge factor is his lack of skating and he's exhausted putting everything into every shift. This means bad puck management because he has less time and space and he can't overcome that with will power anymore.

He had only 9:26 last game because the 4th line didn't play in the 3rd after Hoffman got injured and Evans was moved at wing. Slaf only had 2 shifts in the 3rd instead of 5-6 shifts. Without Hoffman's injury, he would have near 11 minutes of TOI.

Gallagher’s still OK at taking the puck near his blue line, putting the blinders on, bumping it up to himself up the ice and taking a shot. He’ll shoot whenever he gets the puck in the Oz. So he creates offence on his own. Recently Hoffman was good at picking up his rebounds.

Otherwise Gallagher has no passing game to speak of. When he’s forced to pass especially at the end of a shift it’s often a turnover. So there’s not much team play when he’s on the ice. Gallagher will do the exact same thing whether he plays with Suzuki or Evans. So Slafkofsky will need to do his own thing, pick up loose pucks and try to get Gallagher’s rebounds.

Personally, I don't like Slaf with Gallagher but our options are not great past the 1st line in terms of finding Slaf the best spot.

he got 9:26… he has only gotten more than 11min 5 time only once over 13min and he is avg 10:59. Regardless of the reason he is the least used player on the the team (beside Pezz that only had 5 game)

I guess in a way, anything is a step up. Total production of his 4th line linemates is:
Armia+Evans+Pitlick+Pezzetta= 0 goals, 1 assist.

This is good. Dvorak is a step up for sure and Gally can do what Gally does. Hopefully means more ice-time for Slaf and is an opportunity for him to show more with better mates. If Slaf is playing on one of the top two lines by the end of the year, then that would be great.

It would be great if he picked up a couple of multi-point games because he’s currently on pace for an abysmal 25pt season. Lower rookie season ppg than Galchenyuk and Kotkaniemi even.

Hopefully he kicks off with Moneyhands Gallagher and gives them both a reason for us to see them both stay in the NHL.
