Hopefully before the halfway point, don't hold your breath. I trust in Marty though. It can wait until after Dadonov's next useless game. Won't be long, LOL.

This really is the perfect lineup right now, hopefully Slaf is able to move up soon.1st line: Sudafield
2nd line: Slaf-Monahan-Anderson
3rd line: Hoffman-Dvo-Gally
4th line: 3 of Evans, Daddy, Armia, Pezzetta, Pitlick, Richard
I missed last nights game, but I am thankful for highlights like this. I know McCagg is pumping his tires a bit....but still that is impressive puck control and board work for an 18 year old. At 22 he will be an absolute beast.
Yup. Honesltly I couldn't give two shits about wha the did in the last part of this compilation... Grinding pucks like he's Begin ? I get its nice to see him do it and to see that he's strong and all but cutting inside like he did there, dropping passes like he did to Pezz (Probs a goal if its Cole, Hoff, Monahan or even Dadonov lol.) and keeping possession on the board while looking to go inside is what I want. For Slaf to be really dominant, he needs to do a lot more of what he did at ~0:48. He's really good at the boards, but to make him a more dangerous offensive player, he needs to learn how to also attack the net instead of only being really good at the perimeter. He's young, so obviously he still has a lot of time, but if he learns how to do that, it's over.
Marty is a smart man who might be taking his time for good reasons. He might also have directives from management.Very good game yesterday, and if its not enough for Marty... Jesus.
Taking his time for what reasons ?Marty is a smart man who might be taking his time for good reasons. He might also have directives from management.
Hey, if Dadonov and Hoffman are both useful for the next 25 games, that's fine with me.Hopefully before the halfway point, don't hold your breath. I trust in Marty though.
I agree, there is nothing wrong with allowing Slafkovsky to work on a few things against lesser competition.Marty is a smart man who might be taking his time for good reasons. He might also have directives from management.

It’s true lmaoOnce he gets stronger he is going to be a problem downlow. There was a shift last night where he just took the puck and strolled around in the back of the jackets net back and forth. The defenders were bouncing off him.

What is he working on ? Is the competition really "lesser"? Thats debatable.I agree, there is nothing wrong with allowing Slafkovsky to work on a few things against lesser competition.
Uhh, proper development. SMH.
Very good. against NJD he wasn't super good but had 2 great chances. Against CBJ he was awesome and had very good passes to linemates that did nothing.I don't watch the last 2 games, he have played well?
That’s exactly what he needs to learn to do all the time. It’s not expected of Forwards like Caufield and Suzuki that play a pure skill and speed game, but it’s absolutely necessary for Slaf to become a top-tier power forward. For Slaf to be really dominant, he needs to do a lot more of what he did at ~0:48. Roslovic is a 6’1 NHL regular D, he looked like a gnat trying to push Slafkovsky off the puck.Once he gets stronger he is going to be a problem downlow. Off the top of my mind, only 2 or 3 number 1OA Fs really dominated at 18. I only remember Crosby and Lemieux right now. Otherwise everyone else was on a normal curve between 10 and 70 points.@Mrb1p, I didn't see last night's game but I have watched most of the games this season. He has looked a bit lost at times and like someone trying to process the speed of the NHL game which is perfectly normal. He is still 18 years old and while he is a good prospect, he isn't a first-overall pick that is ready to step in and dominate. MSL is bringing him along slowly with as little pressure as possible playing against 4th line competition and while not easy by any means, it is not the same as going up against the top 2 lines from most teams. The season is still young and there is time to move him up when they see fit to do so.
McDavid, and Ovechkin come to mind as well.Off the top of my mind, only 2 or 3 number 1OA Fs really dominated at 18. I only remember Crosby and Lemieux right now. Otherwise everyone else was on a normal curve between 10 and 70 points.
Ovechkin was 20 years old when he played his first NHL game.McDavid, and Ovechkin come to mind as well.
Oh sorry, I misread the 18 year old part, my bad.Ovechkin was 20 years old when he played his first NHL game.

Imagine Oleg Petrov at Slafkovsky’s size. Has hockey changed or is it recent hab teams that don’t cycle much? It's frustrating to see jabronis go infront of the net instead of supporting the guy on the cycle when there's just 0 chance for a shot. When will they learn.
