He's way stronger than he was at the start of camp.

As I have been saying, you want to see improvements game to game, and tonight's game was even more improvements in the right direction for Slaf: strong on the boards all night, didn't force low percentage plays, protected the puck well in transition, made space for himself all night.

You can see opposition players are surprised by how quick his stick is and how intensely he hounds the puck carrier. That range he has to disrupt the play with his stick and force turnovers caughts a lot by surprise. That part of his play without the puck has been impressive considering how young he is.

A not-NHL ready player is being rushed onto an NHL-roster.
To me, he does NOT look like he is "not ready for the NHL". Yeah, he is not ready for top-6 duty, but he can play 12 minutes including 2nd wave PP.

Fine, it just makes no sense.
Of course it makes sense. In the history of hockey, only 15% or 20% of the RH forwards play LW.

It's apparently ok with many here if MSL makes tank moves, but I don't like them.

I would do the same if some MLB coach kept putting a lefty at 3B and a righty at 1B and claiming they hit well.

He played his best game of the year. I think Evans and Armia suit him perfectly at this point. Evans has enough skills to complement him and Armia is excellent at puck recovery and creating space for his teammates to maneuver down low.
They only played 1 shift together, but it's not a bad line. I think Monahan is a better fit than Evans though.

That player has 7 goals in 9 games, I think it’s the right call

But some people say he should go back to Finland or play in the OHL.

He's not getting them on breakouts from their own zone 5 on 5.

How is this possible? The NHL is not a development league. He should be in the OHL or Liga.

Reactions: Andy and BenchBrawl
he's being a toxic troll on other websites
Or having an urgency meeting with Byron Bader trying to redefine the fundamentals of their models... ;)

Edit: Confirmed!

His development areas are not size/skill/speed//growth like all the other Top draft picks. It’s to adapt his game to the NHL. The only place to do that is in the NHL.
The NHL is not a development league!

Every player attains his peak in his first four league games.
