Lol come on man..Smoked again ?
Not going to lie, the potential of KK 2.0 is looking more and more close. Well, minus the bad skating.
Lol come on man..
Also, he's outproducing KK right now..

8 games. And it wasn't a good idea.Btw, Caufield played in that league and had no problem. You are scared for Slaf????
He needs to stay on the 4th line all year with some PP time. Don’t move him up unless it’s for a shift here or there. Keep him HUNGRY!!!There is one thing that frustrates me. Why the hell is MSL constantly changing linemates to Slaf? Honestly, since he got promoted from 4th line, he played with Monahan, Anderson, Evans, Dach, Drouin. This kid needs to adjust to so many new things and this is definitely not helping.
It looked like he had some chemistry with Anderson, but he moved Anderson to first line. I do not get this.
MSL's main job is to develop guys like Caufield, Suzuki, Dach and Slaf. Rest of forwards are not a long-term interest of this organization.
Marty's concepts are all based on a player having awareness out there. It's hard to make it a sucessful formula when a couple of guys on the ice don't have it on any given shift. It's really just instinctive hockey. Knowing where to go without the puck and how to make the best play available with it once you do get it.Houle's teaching MSL's concepts down there while having a roster full of guys that will never make the NHL.
Good luck with that...
There's a large contingent of Wright enthusiasts who desperately want Slafkovksy to be the next KK and fail.
Fun Fact he's actually trending below KK's point totals as an 18 yr old.Lol come on man..

Was about to say what matters is the progression from game 1 to game 82, and progression from year 1 to yesr 2. We didn't draft a finished product. We didn t draft him to score 80 points right now. The hope is that he does in 4-5-6 years from now. He has the potential IMO, and he has the right mindset and skillset.Joe Thornton had 3 goals - 4 assist in 55 games in his rookie season. These rookie stats at 18yo doesn't mean anything
I think in lieu of giving him the best linemates he should be paired with players who will help him improve his board play and cycling so he can work on making plays off the cycle. It still lets him embrace his offensive talent but gives him a specific skillset to work on to support that talent. Key thing though is that he's still given solid minutes and not on a fourth lineSlaf looks like he could have a Rantanen ceiling and a Puljujarvi floor. Question is how do you give him the reps without hurting his confidence.
Maybe he needs a break instead of going to the WJC. Getting a couple of days off would be nice. Then next year they could send him in the AHL he could be their savior. He should go to the WJC and then AHL. He needs to learn to protect himself and play 20mins a night with confidence.
Except when they are stellar.Joe Thornton had 3 goals - 4 assist in 55 games in his rookie season. These rookie stats at 18yo doesn't mean anything
I am thinking this as well. I would call up a player like Ylonen and send Slaf down.I was one of those saying he is progressing well and should stay up, but I'm more and more changing my mind. Not because I think he sucks, I just feel he would learn more in Laval about physical contacts and keeping his head up. Sure the AHL is full of stupid players trying to head hunt but the play is a bit slower so he can adapt more easily to that aspect until he reaches the next level.
