All in good fun , i respect your opinions and you make some solid posts despite the negativity, wouldn't be much of a discussion if we were all gushing on how amazing slaf is @ExpatHabs

There's being negative and there's being completely blind to what a player is actually doing on the ice because someone has a desperate need to be right on the internet. This is Danault all over again.

I doubt you are watching the games if you really do believe what you just said.

i was team Wright and still think Nemec becomes the best player from that draft but anyone that watches Slaf can see the kid has all the tools hes just very raw right now but with hes mentality and willingness to become the best player i have no doubt he will reach hes potentiel

First thing he needs to start doing is using hes body alot more that alone will make a big difference

His statements from a couple of pages ago are not true, clearly based on the many replies that followed and showed him his screwed views.
Posts like that serve only an entertainment purpose. :D

Slaf has a good motor.
Good Vision.
Good Strength.
Good Puck Control.

He tends too hold onto the puck too long
tries to do too much
think the game a step too slow

His weaknesses as I perceive them are all related to experience. I think he can and will fix those things in his game with TOI and proper coaching.

I think the Jagr comparisons are a bit off. I would probably put Slaf topping out as a 70-80 point power forward.
Good post. Aussi simple que ca.
Some people (one?) can learn a thing or two from this.

I’ll update that table I shared before to include p/60 and TOI and send it again soon.
Please don't lmao. Spare us
In fact, I would give you money not to lol

You simply just cannot get over the fact there wasn't a McDavid level player 1st overall in THAT draft.
And you will ALWAYS hold it against Slaf, who is very very good, and most likely the best player FROM that draft
And it will still never be enough for you. So what the f*** are we doing here? Lol

You are addicted to being offended, you are addicted to going against positivity, you ARE the empty space in the glass half full apparently.

We don't know what to tell you bud, you are constantly fighting a losing battle in this sense because you just simply can't comprehend that you can't get ahold of the fact there wasn't a hall of famer the one time we picked 1st overall.
You have serious issues with this and you have to look in the mirror before you can ever get better at dealing with that fact.

Until then, you're basically the scourge of the boards until you get better and adjust your outlook on not only this whole situation but probably hockey in general too.
like I'm sorry but how can you not see or understand any of this?

He is not happy because he thought Wright is the best guy from this draft.
Not capable to admit that's not the case.

Take it easy guys, there's no need to run the guy off the boards for having a different opinion
If it was just a difference of opinion it wouldn't get to this level

This is beyond that. And it's on him

He has a mental block with this thing, it's not EVEN about Shane Wright, this is about a player that does not even exist. And he can't comprehend that.

We've all made peace with the fact there was no generational other worldly player available the one time we picked 1st OV.
He's made a crusade out of it.
And we're all a little fed up with it to be quite honest.

So far so good.

My only concern is that he gets knocked on his ass more than I’d like to see.

Size alone won’t protect him. Just ask Lindros and Primeau.

Give it time. Only time will tell us.
The other thing to consider is that Suzuki was being offered the captaincy and was anointed as a 1st line center.

If Hughes didn’t think Wright would be better than Suzuki, why would he use the #1OA on a 2nd line center? (Instead, he used Romanov as a chip for that player). As Hughes had stated, if it was close, position would factor in.

It was an easier choice for Seattle because he was easily the best of the rest.

So in the end he'll end up being right that the player isnt a 1C and shouldnt be in your top 6 unless you have a real 1C above? Damn, good for him.

He still hasnt shown me he could think the game at an appropriate level for an elite player. Same concern I had pre-draft. His lapse in spacial awarness are pretty glaring at times. Yesterday he was in the NZ coming up with speed, next to JA who was carrying the puck, JA sent him a pass to open up space, while he tried to rush past the defenseman at the blue line and somehow Slaf one-tapped it back to him right on the defenders stick... Like... why? Hes very frustrating at times, Im still unsure if this is from him having lapses in decision making or from him having a hard time controlling the puck due to a growth spurt and awkward giraffe syndrome. I know Tage Thompson had the second, but its so hard to judge wether it's the first or the second case. The same logic can be applied to his defensive giveaways or to the many hits he ate up.
