That sounds great and It might be but it's also a huuuuuuge red flags.
How many player in that league have that weight and are very good?
One and it's Ovechkin

That's a whole lot of weight to carry around, trying to be explosive and gain some speed (cause skating never been his strongest attribute)
I hear ya.....I think of it as more a special size of player. Not to compare him to another great....but Slaf's body type and size is like a giant Crosby.

200lbs on a 5'11 guy would be a lot of weight as well. Add 4 inches to Crosby while maintaining the same proportions would probably bring him up close to 40 more pounds.

Slaf is a physical specimen and if he can maintain/gain explosiveness and speed.....look out!

Slaf is so huge that he can be visible on google earth.

Rick Nash / Alex Kovalev is probably the right description...

Slaf is already a powerful skater, the reason he is called an horse. He is built like Jagr, skating isnt an issue.

Xhekaj look so intimidating for a young player. He could be the most physical defenseman in the NHL in a not so distant future.
He already has the size of a Heavyweight enforcer in the NHL. I hope there’s no poor 19 year old prospect trying to have a go with him this week.

Clearly, the guy will lose some weight. That's just too heavy. But that's fine 'case everytime will watch him and wish he'd be faster...we'll know that it's just a question of losing some of that weight...

But I don't get why people panic about skating though...the guy isn't slow by any means. And I,m not even going with the stupid good skater FOR A GUY HIS SIZE....that's just a stupid quote.

Slaf is a very good powerful skater. Period. But will need to improve it.

I don’t know that he can lose weight. He was 200 when he turned 15. Sundin was 185 at 18. He doesn’t have an ounce of fat. You need to chop off a limb to reduce his weight. I fully expect he’ll very soon be the heaviest skater in the NHL…. He was jump squating his weight with barbells earlier this month. His legs are massive and he can carry the weight. I’m not worried.

Why would he lose weight? He'll probably gain even more if anything...

Well if the idea is to try to get a little more speed, there is some leg strentgh to work on. Which will for sure make him gain weight in his lower body..but maybe try to lose in his upper? In the end, that league is mostly about being fast. I mean if he has the body to be fast at 240...geez, fine. But not sure there's a lot of examples of that in the real world.

There are not a lot of examples which is why comparing him to other players is difficult.

IF he pans out....he could be a once in a lifetime player.....dare I say it.....generational.

It's insane though....you look at a guy like Ryan Reaves who just looks like the ultimate monster. And I guess at one point, you stop counting the pounds...but he's still listed on the Rangers webste as 225. Slaf is 238??? Wow...

If Slaf could be a Kreider, which means true power forward and great skater...that would be huge. Kreider is playing at 225 though. Still, I don't think Slaf will ever reach that speed.....

Try to stop a full speed 260 pound freight train when the NHL now has a zero tolerance policy on Scott Stevens‘ elbows to the head checks.
Thing is, freight trains take a long time to get going. The league is full of Porsche and Ferrari's these days. I love that he's a big body player but I hope he doesn't get so big that it slows him down too much

Some guys are just born that way. Jonah Lomu was the heaviest and fastest rugby player. He was huge even before ever touching the weight room.
