At least our scoring problem is now solved.Kotkamiemi - .5 PPG in SM-Liiga
Slafkovsky - .3 PPG in SM-Liiga
But hey, he dominated Kazakhstan in the Olympics.
If we don't draft top 5 next year something has gone horribly wrongWell, that's one line possibly solved.
Hopefully Dach turns into more than a late career Eller or we draft top5 again next year.
Getting a young Lars Eller for Romanov would not be terrible. Not great but not terrible. People underrate how useful Eller was for a team looking to win.Well, that's one line possibly solved.

Yes he is a stallionHow big is that Slafkovsky guy exactly? He's listed at 6'4" 230 lbs, 18 years old is this for real?
Slaf scored 2 goals in 18 playoff games. Thank God he elevated his play.Wright is a ghost.
He didn't elevate his play when it mattered.
Slaf did.
I don't know.If we don't draft top 5 next year something has gone horribly wrong
Swing and a miss...strike 3Well I hope this gamble pays off , because this pick is a real swing for the fences imo.
KK 2.0I really hope I'm wrong but my gut tells me that we're going to regret picking him
Don't forget Duch who also fills the net!At least our scoring problem is now solved.
fifth on the team in scoring is nowhere near bad, and a definite improvement that followed the post Olympics trajectorySlaf scored 2 goals in 18 playoff games. Thank God he elevated his play.
Eh, there's no guarantee here but Slafkovsky is about as far away from Kotkaniemi as a comparable as you can get.KK 2.0
He’s not KK. He doesn’t fall down when a gust of wind blows by him randomly.KK 2.0
Yeah, I can see the gamble taken on the Romanov - Dach swap, but it can turn out pretty underwhelming.Getting a young Lars Eller for Romanov would not be terrible. Not great but not terrible. People underrate how useful Eller was for a team looking to win.
On topic I like Salf. Not sure if he'll live up to his draft rank though. But i would be surprised if he doesn't become a 25/50 big winger which at least is always useful to have.
Next year's draft is where the bread and butter will be. As long as we get players who can be useful to help Suzuki and Caufield i'm fine with it. This is not a great draft.
Can he play in the AHL next year or does he have to go back in Europe? I would love to see him play in the AHL.
For sure, will take a while to know for sure how it pans out.Impossible to know how this turns out. I thought they should have taken Wright, Cooley or Nemec just because of position being so important and there not being a big difference in evaluations but I'm not being paid to make the decisions.
Also not fair to judge Hughes and Gorton right away, by all accounts they spent a lot of time making this decision and it's their first pick for the club. Should all just take a breath, and look at the positives about Slafkovsky.
Slafkovsky-Suzuki-Caufield
That has some serious potential.
he can play in Laval, not sure that's a good idea though, not a big fan of 18 year olds in the AHL.

Why not? Especially him, who has the size to dominate older players.
because it's a very tough league for an 18 year old.
