I always though he was around 94-95 and could touch 96
Verdugo seems to always mash against us though.I think he hit 96 in his debut but not since.
His two strikeouts in the last inning were on 92 and 93 MPH fastballs. He seems to be in the 92-94 range consistently.
Edit : that double by Verdugo was smashed on 93 up in the zone with no movement which is more along the lines of what I’ve been fearing could happen.
It could really only be a misguided obsession with having extra LH bats, even though Espinal is hitting .325 against RH pitching this year. They're subbing out D. Strawberry for H. Simpson to play the matchups, essentially.
Playing Valera with Espinal, Biggio, and Smith available should be a fireable offense.
