I think the Fangraphs Def rating includes the positional adjustment, so he would get kneecapped a bit for being a 1B. Every qualified 1B on Fangraphs' leaderboard except for the oddly credited DJ LeMahieu (who has more games played away from 1st than at 1st this season) is a negative on the def rating.

Can't believe I forgot to mention that. You're completely right and they use that stat as a way to compare between all positions. In 2019 there was a single positive defensive rated 1B with the three best being Max Muncy (-0.8), Matt Olson (-3), and Anthony Rizzo (-6.9). Using that and look at where they have Vlad at now (-0.8), he's on track to be a decent defender at 1B by their rating system.
