I think it's pretty cool aspect.MLB: You have to build your ballparks to minimum acceptable field dimensions.
Yankees: No we don't.
MLB: No, you don't.
Damn Cole is dealing.
I think it's pretty cool aspect.
NHL should let teams design their own rinks and subtle changes for a home advantage.

Lmao the Yanks own MLB, that's hilarious.MLB doesn't require standardized field dimensions, just that they have to meet minimum requirements. The rulebook requires that CF be at least 400 feet from home plate and it has to be no less than 325 down the lines. This applies to all stadiums built after 1958, so old Yankee Stadium was like Wrigley and Fenway and was allowed to ignore the rule on account of being older. But when the Yankees chose to move they should've been required to adhere to the requriements
Instead, New Yankee Stadium is 408 to dead center, but it's 318 down the LF line and 314 down the RF line (with an extremely flat curvature out towards center to create that inviting short porch for LH batters) with some mealy-mouth justification of preserving the history of the old park by replicating its dimensions
Yankee Stadium is literally violating the rules of baseball and MLB just lets them because lol Yankees.
