An early cut like that often has as much (or more) to do with the player's junior situation than it does anything here. His junior team's first game is a week from today and it is a home opener. They probably signaled to the Blues that they would like him back earlier than later if he had no chance of making the team (which he didn't).

Bulduc has been dealing with an injury and Neighbours seems to have an outside shot of making the team for a tryout. Do we have any other guys who would be going back to junior? This might just be a "we are sending all the junior guys we have seen that aren't making the team back to junior" move where he is the only guy who meets those criteria.

I assumed that Washkurak is getting a look for the AHL roster but forgot about the other two.

Interesting.
Taylor commented that Dickinson was working on getting bigger but was still super thin. Wonder if they sent him down bc he wasn't able to physically compete and they didn't want him getting hurt?

Isn't it because Tanner's season starts next week?

Blues trim 13 players from training camp roster

Springfield is going to be a team that I will follow more closely than any other affiliate the Blues has had.

1. The set-up has not looked this good as before in the Peoria days.

2. The quality of the players that will be active is better than in years. I have really liked what I have seen from most of the during Traverse and training camp.

Have high hopes for many of them!

I expect will have another round of cuts tomorrow. Looks like they are getting everyone games and about to get down to last couple roster spots and firming up lines.

I just noticed that Mitch Reineke wasn't on the training camp roster. Was he not invited? Is he still with the organization?

The Blues didn't offer him a QO. He signed with Pittsburgh's AHL affiliate as a free agent.

ST. LOUIS - St. Louis President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the team has assigned three players to the AHL's Springfield Thunderbirds.
Goalie Joel Hofer and defensemen Tommy Cross and Tyler Tucker are headed Springfield.

The Blues' training camp roster is now at 36 players

Has Buch been playing the PK? He can drive a top 6 line, which I'm sure he'll do for you guys, but last season he was one of the best PK'ers in the league. I was worried with him getting traded that he might not get to penalty kill under a new coach. It's easy for a new coach that doesn't know his game well enough to look at that he's Russian, and automatically decide he shouldn't PK. His penalty killing skills compared to the average player are probably worth a full point in the standings at the end of the season. To not give him a big role would be a bad decision. The Rangers PK completely turned around last season because the coach finally decided to put Fox and Buchnevich on it.

That's without Bozak, Sunny, Barbashev, and Neal. That's a pretty stacked group.

That feels like the most opening day lineup we will see. Neighbors might fit well there as well. Or Kostin or Neal.

Saad I feel is a player Thomas needs on his line, he's extremely use to playing with Thomas's skill set from Chi, Cbj, and Col.

Neighbours looks more and more likely to make the team, at least for the 9 game trial.
