Now I'm going back to the Canadian thread - where I belong.
We should ALL be kind.Re-read previous message
Having those 2 and even Beecher as a shut down C would make a difference in the depth up front for sure.Excited for the games to begin. Gonna need our stars to show up because the bottom six isn’t exactly gonna pile up scoring chances. Losing Robertson and Bordeleau could be a massive factor for this team, hopefully not because if those lines are non factors I’m not gonna be able to get over it.
Don’t really see how this USA team can keep up with Canada. Add Beecher, Bordeleau, Hughes, and Robertson to this group and I can see it given our advantage in goal, but I don’t really see it at this point. I hope I’m wrong, but Canada has Tomasino, who would certainly be in our top 6, as their 14th forward. Our top 6 might be able to go head to head with theirs, but our depth has been really hurt and I think their defense is better than ours. Anything can happen in a short tournament, but I’m not betting on us against Canada.
Any info about lineups?
Our depth has been hurt by bad personnel decisions and some players missing, but having a third line with Brink, Brisson, and Farinacci along with having a top five goalie in this tournament as a back up or a top five pick not on the first pair, showcases our improved depth.
We are the only team in this tournament without a real weakness, and we outplayed a traditional top five team badly in our only exhibition. I see nothing so far to believe we shouldn’t believe that we should win this tournament if we play our game.
Not an axe at all from what I'm reading. He commented on Sanderson not being top defenseman in tournament and pointed out he's not top defenseman on his own team. Not exactly sure how that's an axe. I think the initial comment stands out more than his.Oh here we go with @Pavel Buchnevich and his axe vs. Jake Sanderson
Sanderson projects to be the best defenseman in the future, sure. Don't know how that's relevant to right now, especially with York also being highly touted and a year older in development. York is just better right now as he should be, that's no knock at all.Sry I will ignore the terrible takes of dozens of real life NHL scouts who, by the majority of accounts are of the opinion that he will be a two-way force top-2 D, instead of a random guy from HFBoards who likes to denigrate him and spread disinformation and attempt to lower expectations wherever he can regarding Jake Sanderson’s trajectory. Yeah and actually I as well unironically wonder how people have time for this sort of thing, especially when the poster raising this type of question has almost 50,000 posts lmao.
Not true at all, maybe in a few years, but right now.Sanderson is and will be a far better defenceman than those two. And that’s not against York. He’s good too. Just nowhere near Sanderson level on either Defence or Offence.
We can talk again in 10 daysNot true at all, maybe in a few years, but right now.
I like the 2nd line in theory, but I feel like it’s just way too risky of a trio, especially against a team like Russia.I like this if we switch Caufield and Turcotte, along with keeping Beniers in the top six. Create a scoring line and a shutdown line. Zegras should be playing center. Let him do that with two scorers. And then we can have a matchup line. It'll also allow Boldy to move back to wing where he's more comfortable.
Beniers-Turcotte-Boldy
Kaliyev-Zegras-Caufield
Brisson-Farinacci-Brink
Berad-Slaggert-Moynihan
Colangelo
I have no axe, although apparently I always have an axe for and against every team when my opinion doesn't align with the approved line for NHL teams. I can never keep up with these ridiculous conspiracy theories. It's amazing that people have the time for this stuff.
However, I'll turn it around and call it an axe that Senators fans have against York and Thrun. Let's see how you like it.
