So, I'm expecting something like this:

Raymond - Niederbach - Holtz
Gunler - Costmar - Holmström
Olausson - Sundsvik - Nybeck
Heineman - Bjerselius - Söderblom - Kvist/Wikström

Broberg - Söderström
Björnfot - Johansson
Andrae - Berglund
Brännstam/Hedström

Kvist/Wikström I'm good with either as the 13F. Brännstam/Hedström I couldn't give a darn about.

Possible changes I can think of that the coaches could make(that I would disagree with) is swapping Costmar, & Sundsvik. And bottom-6 winger mixer.

---

Also, Edvinsson better get some SHL time, otherwise his cut was in vain.

Unfortunately, I think Edvinsson & Lysell's chances of making this team would have been far greater had they not cancelled the Hlinka and other international tournaments. We all know those two would have stood out a lot.

A bit worried about the third D pair, it's going to be somewhere between just ok and horrible. Let's hope they don't repeat the mistake of confusing poor puck movers for late minute shutdown D-men.

Hopefully they play the crap out of the top 4 once the games start to matter. Find it pretty odd they left Grans and Edvinsson out but it's the swedish hockey way to chose lesser players for reasons unknown.

Emil Andrae is a great puck mover. It's why he was ranked to be a late 1st rounder to early 2nd rounder last year despite being 5'9". The guy reminds me of Torey Krug.

And don't sell Gustav Berglund short. he's decently mobile and pretty strong defensively. He'll cover for Andrae's defensive deficiencies.

I think Sweden has the best overall defensive group in the tournament. And I think that Albert Johansson is going to surprise a lot of people this year.

They usually bring an extra young/offensive D-man who doesn't play much. I think that guy will be Andrae so expect a #7-8 role. He's very inconsistent and mistake prone but could be useful on the PP etc. Will probably play a big role next year.

Berglund and the boys from Djurgården are weak players at this level. There's no getting around that.

Andrae should play. Montén brought up Sandin when talking about him and being able to use him in all situations. But then again, he gushed about Grans too.

You know who I would have liked to see at 6D+PK, though instead of Djurgården dmen + Berglund? Anton Olsson.

And Holtz thought he escaped the spirit of Östman, ha!

But seriously though, that's a major yiiiikes. Sundsvik going into the tournament should've been the 4C/13F. Can't have an offensive black hole on the top line.

Doubt that lasts long.

If one D is playing on the second PP what are the odds its Johansson playing over Broberg?

It was the best PP in nearly 40 years, and better than the Gretzky era Oilers.
You didn’t understand that at all. Not saying the Oilers powerplay wasn’t ideal, it clearly was. I’m saying it wouldn’t be ideal for a different team to have a PP lineup with all the same handedness.

I get it.

But I guess, I was more or less trying to say that maybe handedness on the powerplay doesn't matter as much as people seem to think.

The Oilers PP was a simple 1-3-1 setup that was all about quick puck movement through the box to force collapses, and breaking into the slot.

I can see trying to line up the handedness if you're really pushing for a stationary PP built off of a point shot, but 1-3-1 seems to be all the rage right now. Boston and Tampa both use it as well.
