The plan was never for him to join the bubble and be behind the bench. He's used more as a scout if I'm reading things right .

Actually I'd argue Germany did lose more important players overall.

Germany probably lost more important pieces to their team this year. Also, Canada, USA and Finland lost the NHLers (Lafreniere, Hughes, Kakko). I really don't get why Swedes think they're the only ones losing quality talent. I'd say you guys are 4th in terms of talent lost in this tournament.

Agree. Hurts to see Ljungman cut (and not Bjerselius for example). Ljungman is the smartest center there is in all of Swe 01/02. Classic linear development with no ceiling in sight. Oh well, he'll be back next year.

Seems weird though.. I guess I misunderstood "Charter Flight" because I thought if you chartered a flight it would be for your team vs a shared charter.. and it certainly ups the risk re covid

That's really old news. Happens pretty much every year.

The risk of a covid event occuring on a flight under these circumstances must be extremely small.

I would assume they still went through a bunch of measures to keep the teams separated on the plane. I know there is talk of recycled air on a plane being a risk, but not sure there’s any credibility to that concern.

They are trying to save costs - a separate plane would be expensive.

If the tournament happens, it will be a minor miracle.

Having said that, I read being on a plane is no where near as dangerous as you think when it comes to Covid.

Söderblom's foot is back to normal.

A defenseman will logically be cut. One of Hedström/Brännstam hopefully.
