He was LA's best defender by a mile in this tournament ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Not that I expect him to play top pairing minutes in the NHL, but I could certainly see him finding his way onto the Kings some day.

I have a new level of respect for Durzi after this 3 day weekend. I thought a lot of our other D prospects passed him up and he was going to be a career AHLer, but he has changed that

He looks neck-and-neck with Spence as far as the best defenseman. But the blueline is mostly invitees.

Considering his age, experience, and opportunity, I expected a bit more.

Durzi will be 23 next month and has 78 AHL games under his belt. I would hope he looks good in a tournament like this or he'd probably have zero chance of being an NHL player.

As he should. It is a super small sample size on a player that is a project.

Byfield had a very good first season in the AHL and his taste of the NHL.

Just like a frozen chicken pot pie, Byfield can't be rushed. We signed up for the long haul


An example of small sample size going the other way is Pinelli, who was the best player on the ice in the prospect scrimmage and was pretty close to invisible here.

I stand corrected, I remember the goal now.

For the record, I've never bitched or complained about the Byfield pick -- I'm happy with it and I'm sure it's going to take more time, just would have liked to see a bit more.

Ya it’s crazy to me that people are even hating on him at this point, of course stutzle was going to transition faster he was playing with adults already…. Byfield went from playing with teens to adults while being significantly younger. I’m afraid of that guys opinion on turcotte and zegras

for the record I don’t dislike stutzle, I just think byfield is going to be a big problem for opposing teams once he gets comfortable

I think fans need to be a little patient with byfield… and let him develop at his pace and not spend so much time comparing him to a much older player in stutzle that already had experience with men( ).
