Agree, provided we don't drop, it's sort of how the Ducks were situated for Zegras, Drysdale. Bound to get a good faller since there isn't a hard consensus and I feel now more than ever teams will go for 'their guy'

At least with my futile mock drafts so far, Guenther has been the guy that could slip a few spots depending on how the lottery goes. If it ends up being New Jersey-Columbus-Detroit in the 5-6-7 spots, I could see them looking at other needs rather a RW.

Mctavish feels like the start of the era where people will reach for 'truculence.' Like Neighbors last year a little. Skill is easy to find, tough/feisty skill not so much, as we've been lamenting.

Actually, usually it's 4.
NA skaters
NA goalies
Euro skaters
Euro goalies

I don't hate it, to be honest. It's not ideal, but if Euro scouts didn't watch NA players, and vice versa, then it seems disingenuous to make a combined list.

True. But at least you can see a reason to separate them.

BTW, KP and others, why are you feeling the need to explain to me how CSS works? Bizarre to say the least.

I'm addressing a statement you made with the intention of clarifying for others who may not understand.

If the intention was only for you, I would have just PMed you.

Uhh. This is the deep end of the pool. I would like to assume that most know that.

As far as Ediminsson goes he has too many talents physically to be ignored.

Then if everyone is as enlightened as you assume they are, then my opinion of separate lists being situationally appropriate a point for discussion others can chime in on.

Either way, I don't understand the defensiveness.

kings have had neither though beyond Kopitar/Doughty. Hopefully some of the kids will change that.

No argument here, but the point is that people are drafting 'grit' higher than before because it's harder to find.

Hard to tell if it'll be like the 'rawr big stay at home defenseman' run of the last decade or if it's worth it but the trend seems to be those guys get relatively overvalued now.

Please no drafting in the first for grit, I don’t want another Tuebert. Even though he was drafted right around where he was expected to. Grit in the first rounds don’t seem to translate well, Tuebert, Griffen Rienhart, Gubranson, Jessman etc etc

You lost me at "situationally appropriate"

Defensiveness? How long have we been posting together now? Close to two decades? Of course I know how CSS works.

You're about as wrong as I am when it comes to prospects. :snide:

What are the odds we move up in the drafty lottery? Is there a chance we get top 3?

Dunno......

But if we somehow get #2, I'd just assume trade down and acquire 2 first round picks in a deal with either New Jersey or Columbus. This year the draft is zany, so if we're not picking Owen Power, I'd just assume use #2 OA to trade for two guys instead of one.....

Yeah, been posting since 2003ish. Before the draft. You didn't have to hit me so low.

I still think you overestimate everyone's understanding of CSS. It's not a knock on anyone. Just that we have people grow interest in the draft and prospects every year. Nothing wrong, in my opinion, with providing clarity.
