We have a 23 year old who just won the Norris in Fox, a top 5 player in the whole league in Panarin, legit starting goalie in Shesty, last year’s 1st overall pick in Laf. Not to mention the deepest prospect pool in the NHL stacked with young talent and a brand new coach who should elevate everyone.

It sucks to lose Buch but he’s more a cap causality than anything else. I love him but the writing was on the wall. Kravtsov and Kakko should fill the void.

I don’t think Shesty is a “legit starting goalie” right now, but even assuming the rest is true- for how much longer at this rate? You can have standouts on bad teams and Drury is quickly transforming this team from being on the cusp to just being bad.

I truly believe Beniers would be better for BUF and Powers for SEA, but time will see.

MacTavish is my favorite early reach.

NJD was gonna go for it. We knew this.

I really thought CBJ would pick a winger. But if they valued C, then Johnson is a slightly better pick than MacT there maybe.

Clarke and Edvinsson have been pretty interchangeable. I was more sure about Eklund going before Guenther.

The Boucher pick is WILD.

Sillinger is a good pick. Coronato, Rosen, Othmann, and Bolduc are good picks, but Lucius would have been my pick either before or after Sillinger.

I would have picked Lucius at 15/16. If things went more "normally," I'd pick Svechkov since Lucius "should have been gone by then." Even if all of the prior C options were gone, I'd have picked Raty over Othmann. And I like Othmann.

I can't believe that Cossa went over Wallstedt, but the spots that goalies were taken looks pretty right. Except NSH should have picked Wallstedt before MIN. Pretty close, tho.

No one guessed Boucher, Johnston, Stillman, or Allen would be picked in the first round, and Mailloux doesn't deserve his own talent. I'm good with having 25/31 correct in the first round.

Raty*, Stankoven, Chibrikov, Robertsson, Pinelli*, and Svozil should be among the best 2nd round picks. I hope there's some way we can get Raty or maybe Pinelli in a trade for a pick.

And there's no reason that a team should have drafted Mailloux in this entire draft without a clear misogynist and francophile agenda. They're asking to be CHI in a handful of years if he sticks around, imo. They could have gotten this douche in the 7th round and claim a victory that they'll provide a path to redemption, but they went ahead and picked a guy in the first round when most teams would very literally have him on their "do not draft list." That feels more like a statement than a draft pick. Sucks.
