Is there still a possibility of us making a trade or can I turn this off

There's no end with you.

You are dismissive of any legitimate counterpoint because it doesn't fit your opinion.
Are you saying that Gallant wasn’t widely acknowledged as the top coaching candidate available this offseason.

No. That is not what I said.

Drury did the Lindgren extension. That was good.
What else would you say has been good since Drury took over.

Fired Quinn, Hired Gallant, got a 4th for Howden, Got a much needed player in Goodrow. The ONLY thing I have an issue with is Buch deal return being slightly less than expected.

BPA is the way to go, and I don't think NYR drafted a LW out of spite. But there were a few consensus picks on the board that were higher than Othman. Maybe our metrics have a blindspot with centers. Maybe we could have traded down for a few extra picks.

I don't doubt that in a few days we hear that Othman was the #4 prospect on the Ranger board out of the whole class. Carp had the name and he can barely be bothered to cover the team. He'll be ahead of more than a few players that the most plugged in posters can't justify.

Which is fine (although I'll still argue there's almost never a 'consensus' pick), but then the issue is that our scouts are no good, which means we can't get the BPA except through luck until we change them.
Edge is suggesting we had him at #10, and if CSS had him at #8 for NA skaters that doesn't that wild

Othmann is going to be one of the players who scouts and fans disagree on.

Personally, he wouldn't have been my pick there. I like him as a later pick.

Same. Late 20s and I’m okay with this. This just feels like the McIlrath pick all over again. Obvious better talent still on the board and still they reach.

I think in this kind of Draft you should not pick the "best" available player. It's pretty much a lottery with the amounts of games played. Draft what position you need in the organization. Still can't believe we passed on two promising centers.

The contract they gave Goodrow cancels out that trade. Also getting Blais in the Buchnevich deal makes the Goodrow deal look worse in my opinion. Didn’t have to give Goodrow a 6 year deal if they knew they wanted to bring Blais in. It’s bad asset management. Buch deal being “slightly less than expected” is such an understatement for an indefensible move.

You can not like the pick or player. But he isnt a reach. This is where he was projected to go.
