Yeah I mean even if you think (and I do think) he can become a good 2nd pairing D on another team that isn't the disaster that Buffalo is, you can still point to his stats and current contract and say, that's not worth a first.

I mean Graves got 2nd and a 3rd/4th line winger, with a better contract, better recent stats and Colorado was basically taking anything they could for him because they were going to lose him for nothing.

Rangers posted a pre-draft video earlier with Drury and a few others in the war room. It was interesting because it sure looked like there were only a few guys in the room this year as opposed to the giant panel they've had in past. It could be that the video was entirely staged and not everyone was around for it. Or it could be a reflection of how much of a skeleton crew there is right now. Do you have any intel on this?

We’d be better off just trying to turn Chytil into Danault. Both quick North-South players that are primarily playmakers. Chytil has good defensive qualities (not necessarily good defensively right now) that you can mold to turn him into a Danault instead of paying 6x6 for Danault

Let’s be real, no one is beating our offer if we really want Eichel. The fact that NYR laughed at Lundkvist/Schneider+Chytil+Kravtsov+1st is comforting because that’s not even close to the best package we could offer without it hurting us too badly. If anyone beats this package that Buffalo is asking for, we could easily up the offer

this is like when Panarin went to the Isles and they offered more money so NYR could up their offer for him from 10 mil to 11.5 mil. Buffalo will show this package to other teams, and once the other teams manage to beat this offer, we step up and say we’ll agree to the deal
