That wasn't his role.Buchnevich was never going to be a player that you could win a cup with. Not a great return, but let's see if there are other moves after this that correlate
what was the rush to get this done? A '22 2nd and Blais didn't need to be done now, why not wait it out if that's all you had available
That is my feelingIs a 22’ 2nd like a 21’ first?
This is JG's fault for giving Kreider that deal.
Correct, I would've thought two 2nds w blais but it is what it is. There's something else coming so I will reserve judgement until the whole picture is thereTeams knew Drury was in a bind with the cap. Drury had to move the player but the return should have been more.
The irony. It's like Mean Girls, the KZB clique backstabbing each otherThis is JG's fault for giving Kreider that deal.
Yes and no. Having to trade Buch is his fault the return is horrible though.
You’re right except about this being “not bad” value. It’s really bad. A first line winger for a fourth line winger and a second is bad.Blais is a good bottom 6 player and signed to a good contract and will be RFA next summer. Buch is coming off an anomaly of a season where he played lights out for half of it and is probably going to get a larger contract than the Rangers can afford with other players, especially wingers, coming along. (Kakko, Krav, Fox, Laf, Miller, Igor) Can't keep everyone. It's still a business and for a player without a contract that has leverage for a pay day, this return isn't that bad. And a second next year is pretty good too. Deeper draft. Some people get too attached to players and it clouds judgement. I am guilty of that too, but you got to remain as objective as possible.

Blais or a 22 2nd doesn't help get him at all... and we have the space for him at the moment, as is, so it still doesn't make sense. It rhymes with Schmeichel
