This is the kind of pick that could fall flat and be underwhelming or really pay off because in part he's still such an unknown quantity.

This is why this draft is such a wildcard. Wyatt Johnson didn't play this year besides the U18s, and you don't know how far he has progressed.

If his trajectory from the end of the 2019-2020 year continues, he could be a great pick.
This is a large part of the problem. They have no idea how much, if any, he has progressed and they still used a first rounder on him.

Could have traded down twice more if they were that sold on this guy.

Really, with Ty, Mav and now Y it, Stars will be filled with a half dozen 15 goal scoring forwards.

Score by committee will be the mantra in a few years. Otter will have to pitch goose eggs in a few years.

Yup. I don't have a problem with the pick, I have a problem with the pick at that spot and with who else was still on the board.

Funny how it always seems tough to find highlights on players we draft. Guess there's no highlights for character
