Swayman 8.2 mil belongs on that list, I would not trade Pasta, he is your only hope,, plus if you have cap space you can retool this team, but the question is do we have qualified management to do these must needed moves and signings, off of this past year's signings that would be in the negative.

TBH I want Marchy in the HOF. I'm starting to think it's ok for him to go rack up some numbers somewhere else for HIM.

When Pasta scored the go ahead goal in the third last night a thought hit me. The thought was:
When the B's win this, I'm going to post tomorrow that regardless of what we think is going to happen the rest of the way, there's a part of me that feels like if they're close to a playoff spot at the deadline they owe it to Pasta to try to get him some help and make it in.
Of course, 15 minutes later, my tone changed to it's current state, which is:
Listen to offers on anyone other than Pasta and get better players to support him during the next 5 years of his prime.

So are you guys saying that if we had a "real top6 forward" in Geekie's spot he would already have 30 goals playing with Pasta?
No offense but that's just not realistic. 30 goals in 44 games would be a 56 goal pace. How many guys in the league are going to score 56 goals? Right now there's only 1 player on pace for that, and it's Leon Draisaitl.
Ok, you don't like the 'on pace' argument that Geekie has scored at a 30 goal pace, so just look at what he's done; 19 goals in 44 games is absolutely top6 production. Especially since he hasn't really had much, if any PP time. If he keeps it up he could end up with around 27 goals in 63 games with Pasta.

Sadly my first thought when the Bruins went up 2-0 and again 3-0 was, " I wonder what the betting odds are currently for the Leafs to come back and win this game? I absolutely expected it based on the way this team had played this season. I m sure I was not alone either.

I was torn the whole time and it's an awkward uncomfortable feeling. I know in my head, that what's best for this franchise is to lose as many games as possible between now and the end of the season, but then you see those ridiculous "Leafs" and Domi cross checking guys and everyone running the Berube 'hit from behind' playbook and I just wanted to see their faces caved in.

Think it has more to do with all the golden set up chances he's had recently - it's a feeling more than any kind of logical argument.

You don’t move Pasta that insane talk but you do move almost everyone and it seems like the bruins have put an offer for him to accept or they will be looking to move him. The UDFa need to be moved especially if they are not resigning
That is an interesting take, could have possibly made some money going against the Bruins when they had the lead, nice job pointing that out.
What do people think of the idea of targeting Matty Beniers in Seattle in a trade?
He checks a lot of the right boxes for me: center with good potential to be 2C fixture; is only 22 but has had some success so far in his NHL career; Seattle and several of their players, including him, have gotten a bit stagnant after early success and they might be open to some moves to shake things up; decent size; when drafted was compared to Bergeron for his poise and attention to playing an all around game.
Of course, that would be a complicated trade and I'm not here to tell you what the details would look like. I don't know if they have the chips. But could be the right direction to be thinking?

Speaking of which, where has Kastelic been lately? He was a going concern for the first 15 games or so but has really dried up since. I know he has battled injuries, and that may just be part of his profile going forward. That whole 4th line went from being interesting to being pretty irrelevant.
Byfield, he would be along the lines of Beniers who I suggested. Young, has looked good at times, etc.
Same problem though. What are you giving the Kings? He's not somebody who will come cheap, at all.
But I'm pretty open to what it takes to get this type of player. They are hard to come by otherwise.

Geekie & pasta have said they have chemistry- they are together off the ice because they have kids same ages and wives are close
Geekie said they talk hockey about playing together and what is going on in ice

They want Patrik Laine because they can’t comprehend Morgan Geekie is good

I think the Bruins can get close to a top 10 pick this season and still be a playoff team next year. For whatever reason, a lot of players are underperforming especially on defense which we all thought would be one of the best defenses this year.

I was told how awesome the Leafs are but only a Bruins follower would think McAvoy & Lindholm would not make a difference

To continue from the last thread: looking at the bigger picture, is it harder to build a supporting cast around Pasta or to find another guy like him?
Even if you are hell bent on tearing down this entire squad, wouldn't you rather have a piece like Pasta to build around, instead of hoping a guy is drafted and developed into someone as good as him?
I think people advocating trading him are simply forgetting how rare it is to get a player of his caliber at all.

I have a hard time believing Berniers or Byfield would be moved. The time for Byfield was when they had him and Vilardi, whom I wish they made a serious go at. I’d go for Byfield anyday, but you’re probably looking at more than just Carlo and Coyle + some UFAs going out I’d imagine. Might have to include Geekie or Zacha with Carlo to get it started but what do I know. Bruce Boudreau mentioned how Marchand would be a great fit for LA. Byfield would be an immediate core member so you need to give up quite a lot and then some. Turcotte is probably an easier target that you don’t need to overpay so much for, but less desirable.
You could take the some of the same above sentiment as Vilardi and Byfield towards Berniers and Wright as far as picking one to invest in long term. I’m not sure Seattle wants to move either though, as they see two young centers being the core moving forward and have that going for them despite little else. McCann makes more sense for them to move from their better forward players.

kypreos seems out to lunch. byfield is playing the best hockey of his career, is becoming a 200 foot beast with offensive chops and now the kings are going to trade him? wishful thinking. the bruins either need to get lucky with the lottery or find a jack eichel type of scenario where a top talent forces his way out.
Keep your future picks/prospects and be a bit patient IMO. Stock up the cupboard a bit more this season. Keep some cap space available.
There is always a guy on middling teams who gets sick of it and wants out to compete and the team wants futures. Or a guy who wants to be paid a bit too much...swoop in at that point. If it doesnt come to fruition you still have your picks/prospects to hopefully draft a stud.
A lot of knee-jerk reactions in here, this season is pretty well done, no need to do something hastily like move Pasta. Lots of time to assess this thing now.
