Wonder who the eight Kelley expects to be gone at the top. Six that seem certain are Power, Eklund, Beniers, Guenther, Hughes and Johnson. That leaves only two of the following likely candidates of Clarke, Edvisson and McTavish.

Not sure, but there's a good chance given the diversity of opinion about this draft class that one of the eight will be available at 11. Especially as forwards can drop a bit as teams tend to reach a little bit on dmen in most drafts.

The response from several NHL teams has been clear. At minimum, the Arizona Coyotes, Chicago Blackhawks, New York Rangers and Toronto Maple Leafs are believed to be among the teams with no plans to select Mailloux under any circumstance.
No surprise, but Hawks DND Mailloux

Yikes. Seems pretty complicated.

1) Canadian
2) Playing in Sweden
3) While a minor
4) Consensual sex
5) With an adult
5) Non-consensual photo
6) Non-consensual spreading of said photo

I believe in second chances, but I would steer clear

Pretty scumbag thing to do, for sure. But definitely one of those things a young guy does. Especially if he hooked up with a hot older woman. Probably some alcohol involved too.

If Kent Johnson is on the board, I do it.

seems like he could be this year's trevor zegras...undersized forward with a lot of skill that slips toward bottom of top 10 for various reasons, not sure he's the forward type we need more of but if he's bpa then he's bpa

Yeah, doesnt deserve not to be drafted, as long as he doesnt have a history. But in today's world his career is probably over, sadly.

I'd actually argue that we do need a forward like him. There are no elite finesse players in the organization except for Kane.

The only young elite forwards we have are Dach and DeBrincat. Johnson's style of play is different than both of them.

Would you consider Sillinger,McTavish or Lysell elite?

I like Johnson but he’s very boom or bust.

If Wallstedt goes in the top 9, do we get a chance at Clarke, Eklund, Edvinsson, Johnson? I'd be stoked.
Eklund-No
Edvinsson-No due to his size, skating, and physicality. Hockey IQ, not so much.
Clarke-No. His occasional lackadaisical play will be overlooked.
Johnson- Wallstedt would need need to go prior to #11 plus somewhat of a "reach" pick. It's not likely.

detroit might be the team to take wallstedt but johnson falling to 11 still seems optimistic

Nah. I'd be willing to bet he gets drafted. This is definitely something you can write off as him just being a stupid kid. If you read the article, he said he sent it because his teammates were pressuring him. As a teenager on a team with a bunch of adults, I can definitely see that. As long as he knows what he did was wrong and stupid(and he does seem to) he will get another shot. As he should.

Read that Edmonton will take Cossa at 10. I would hope Wally isn’t available by then

Edmonton at #10? Do you mean Ottawa?

When I say reach pick prior to the Hawks, it would be Lucius, Sillinger, Lysell, or a bigger stretch. And to be clear, the names I mentioned need to be picked only several slots above their consensus.

Mailloux-----teenage poor judgement and some lack of moral character, but I think he will be drafted....there's always 1 GM out there willing to gamble on a big kid with talent who made a mistake....I certainly would.
