Chibrikov or Sveckhkov is the way we need to go

Would also be open to trading 2022 1st for 2021 1st if we can grab both

This team has too many holes to give our our first round pick. Look at the state of our defense right now. That could easily be a top 5 pick.

You would drafting a world class Winger or C with that pick if you traded it

This team has used extensive picks and assets on D in recent years.. Its time to build up for forward group especially adding a winger like Chibrikov for future

I think you have to keep the 2022 first.Generation talent chance.

100%. I have this feeling we end up winning 1st overall next year and getting Shane Wright. I personally think of him and Bedard, that Bedard is the generational talent, but Wright is still a Matthews-level talent IMO. Getting him would be huge.

I think you take the shot on Raty at #11. It's risky, but he's their best shot at getting an elite talent.

It's similar to what the Sox did last year with Garrett Crochet.

i REALLY want Raty. I have a thing for Finns, and losing Teuvo really f’ing blew. I want another.

Like I said I don't think they're going to be making that pick. If they do.....Jones isn't happening.

It would be incredibly irritating to trade the 2022 1st.

The problem with trading for Jones and or signing Hamilton is that in all likelihood, it’d significantly impact if not eliminate any chance of contending for a too 3 pick next season. I’m hoping we can snag one of the top two netminders or Raty with this year’s pick and retain our first next year.

I'm only ok with trading Boqvist if they sign Hamilton. Hamilton is what you hope Boqvist develops into.

Danila Yurov and Ivan Miroshnichenko are two Russians that will be drafted in the first round of the 2022 draft. Both could be better than either Svechkov and Chibrikov. Team USA will have several gems. And there's Shane Wright.

It makes no sense for the Hawks to trade the 2022 1st rounder. The 2022 draft will be very strong.

Are you not seeing Kirsanov making it to the 43rd selection?
Oh I think he 'll be available. Two other defenceman that I think are better targets for the Hawks , Ethan del Mastro and Bryce Montgomery, would be good choices. Both good skaters, Montgomery can carry the puck and del Mastro has more offence than some people think. And both very strong in the defensive zone including their net front work.

If the cost is Dach + then no freaking thank you to Jones. And considering the Hawks lack of scoring talent i don't think i'd want to trade Debrincat + for him either. If that's what CBus is asking for then...

I consider D-Cat more valuable than Dach. D-Cat has proved his level, Dach has to grow still.

People always claim this

Next June we will be hearing "Well this draft isn't strong outside of top 10 ,, 2023 will be very strong"

When people talk about the strength of the draft a year or more out, they're usually referring to the players that have separated themselves that far out. Shane Wright is borderline generational, if not generational and others like Brad Lambert, Matthew Savoie, Jack Hughes, Ivan Miroshnichenko, etc. have shown themselves very well too. And yes, 2023 too will be very strong, if not stronger at the top with Connor Bedard and Matvei Michkov putting on a show at the U18s and dominating their leagues as especially young players.

Fyodor Svechkov is the pick for me. Have been on him when he was in the 20s and now he's shot up boards. Smart player and I think he still has an offensive ceiling. Obviously everyone likes the defense and IQ, but I think he can be great.
I wouldn't be against Svechkov as the pick, but I'm also more keen on other players that will likely be the available.

That would be like Reichel for me where I liked him, but would have preferred Mercer.

It would not be difficult to make a case for the Hawks to draft Svechkov at #11.

we also do not have any good centers in ROCK or prospect pool IMO.
Borgstrom, Kurashev, and Barratt are good prospects.

But I agree none of them have proven to be a 2C which we'll need behind Kirby going forward. Wouldn't hurt to shore up the center pipeline.

Svechkov sounds like a player you take in the 20s. To me, he sounds like Philip Danault as a best case scenario. Also, you have to wait for him because he's a Ruskie.
