Damn Raty is gonna drop like a rock isn’t he? I remember when he was talked about being a top pick in this draft.

i can't recall a assumed hockey #1 pick dropping so fast.

Last time i saw something like this was QB Ryan Nassib who was temporarily assumed to go #1 overall. He dropped like a stone too

Klimovich, Zellweger and Helenius are all guys id like to see selected at 65. Hoping one of them is available.

Zellweger could be a possibility, but we'd have to see how the board breaks. I would think that someone would take the gamble on Klimovich early. I don't think he gets out of the 2nd round. Same with Helenius.

That seems even more out of left field than Redline... Sillinger at No. 5? How is Chibrikov that low...

Ugh... this draft is going to eat me alive I can see it already...

Could you happen to post the full 1st round?

im at work rn. Also be aware this is rankings, not a mock draft

I don't get it. It's not like he tore both his knees up or had back surgery. Shows how hard it is to predict a 16/17 year olds trajectory even if he has amazing skill.

Black book is officially out, and just from a quick scan of it, i think i spent my money wisely.
Top 5 Ranking is (in order)
Power
Eklund
Edvinsson
Beniers
Sillinger

Some other names we've discussed here: Svechkov (14), Lucius (16), Pinelli (27), Chibrikov (31), L'Heureux (37), Raty (56)

They seem to have one player every year that they rank WAY higher than everyone else. Last year it was Tristen Robins, this year they have Knies at 13. Granted, their 13 is more like probably 20-25, but still - they always seem to have this one outlier.

Cossa at 7–ahead of Wallstedt at 15. Cossa is a giant—played for Matt Robertson’s team. Wallstedt was on Nils Lundkvist’s team.

The jist?

3rd line/support player ceiling with the unwillingness to do the things that would fit the mold of those players. Can't skate, can't score, can't think.

One NHL scout was quoted as saying that they wouldn't consider him until the 6th or 7th.
Ouchhh

I can't say I've heard anyone that negative about Raty --- not even close. But there is quite a bit of division when it comes to him as a prospect.

But already you're seeing all these guides who are quoting scouts and you see guys like Svechkov ranking from 6 to 54, you've got Raty anywhere from the teens to someone saying they wouldn't consider him until the 6th or 7th round.

Granted there are going to be outliers, and some of those makes for interesting quotes. But it does give you a sense of how this draft is all over the map. It could very well feel reminiscent of a draft from the early 1990s.

I never got the Black Book this year, because I was expecting it to be less comprehensive, due to Covid.

For people that did get it: is it as in depth as it normally is? Perhaps I'll get it tonight!

To give you an idea - 4 players that have been talked about a good deal on these boards as being possibly available at 15:

Svechkov - 3.5 pages
Lucius - 4.5 pages
Pinelli - 4.5 pages
Chibrikov - 1.5 pages

Keeping in mind that for some of these, 1 page is fully devoted to quotes from scouts.
