If Lucius has skating issues he doesn’t sound like a Rangers pick to me. With the exception of Lias and Karl Henriksson skating is one thing that the Rangers have very consistently looked for from early draft picks pretty much the last 10 years or so.

I'm actually getting excited about this draft. It looks more and more like a decent center will be available without having to reach.
Especially if the two goalies go before us (thinking at least one is most likely). Svechkov, Pinelli, Raty maybe even someone with offensive upside like Sillinger drops. It's now is up to our scouts to make the right decision.

How do you guys feel about Raty's skating. How would you compare it to Lundell's?

Think Raty and Lundell are two different players. Lundell likes to go up, bulldozing, and lay a shot. Raty is more finesse with a grind-game. Both are real good skaters.

But remember thank a lot of that old guard is gone

Knight is very good. Askarov is better than him. Wallstedt is far better than both of them. Best goalie prospect in the last 25 years or so, IMO. What he is doing at his age is phenomenal.

If that’s true then we should be trying to trade up for him.

Here’s a “What if?”.
You are the G.M. Of the Rangers and Columbus or Minnesota offers you their two late firsts for 15OA. Do you do it?
It really depends on what other moves we’ve made.
I’d be really tempted though, if we already have a center then absolutely, we’re gonna need cheap talent in a few years and that’s the perfect way to grab it. I’d rather a 22 pick tho.

No question. The difference between 15 and mid twenties is not that large
I like the idea. This draft year is so unpredictable with players not playing, playing shortened seasons or playing in leagues they weren’t scheduled to play in. Younger players being bumped from their spot and not getting their chance.
The way I see it you get two kicks at the can and even have the option of trading one an keeping one of the picks. Add to that, we have no second rounder this draft.

If I was a betting man I would wager Yzerman takes Wallstedt with 6OA. If Jesper is still there at 15 Drury should be expecting a few calls.
I would imagine one of them will be Detroit offering Washington’s first and our second back.
I hope Drury holds out for more or just drafts Wallstedt.

Depends on who’s left on the board. It also doesn’t appear to be the deepest draft and the Rangers really aren’t short of prospects that right off I’d trade on quality for quantity.

Depending on how the board falls, I don’t think there is a whole lot of difference between the player at 15 and what’s going to be around in the 20s. I think there is a very clear top 10 then you have that group of Pinelli, Raty & Svechkov (alphabetically). After that the value kind of falls off a cliff.

That being said, I don’t think the Rangers could even get a trade as suggested with two 20s for 15, but I would probably rather have the two 20s

asked elsewhere, but wondering if idea below seems fair and desirable to our crew
Value of: - Anaheim shopping 3rd overall pick. Looking for more picks and prospects for rebuild
"Value of: Anaheim shopping 3rd overall pick. Looking for more picks and prospects for rebuild"

NYR offer 15thOA, 64thOA (Buff 3rd) 111thOA(NYR 4th) and Zac Jones for 3rdOA and 33rdOA
gets NYR a shot at top-rated C, and back into 2nd round
Of all that I’ve read so far, only Vancouver (9) and Ottawa (10) where the team rep. was quoted by a reporter that the pick would be available to trade.

Montreal, Minny, Detroit and Columbus have multiple high picks, all need goaltending in their systems badly.

This will be an entertaining draft regardless of the talent.
