Britt really came into his own when he switched to center. If he stays healthy he's a nice addition.

Had to happen, he was injured last year and paying what the Raiders did...eh not so much.

They can use that money to fill that need.
The Raiders OL in 2019 season was Brown, Incognito, Hudson, Jackson, Miller. Now the 2 guards in Jackson & Incognito are getting released and Brown, they are trying to trade and if they are unsucessful in doing that they will release him. So, they are going to be replacing 3/5 of their expected starters from last season.

In free agency, they either have to rebuild the OL or use that cap space to sign Defence and draft OL.

There's a chance Incognito rejoins the Raiders at a lower price. Depends on what other offers he gets. I hope he comes back. Really good player and a good leader nowadays despite his ugly past.

Without any dead money, the Raiders can afford to let him see what the market bears. different story if they had to eat some dead cap space for him. they likely would have tried to restructure a deal rather than cut the guy.

A lot of good players who don't have any dead cap money will be released. With the lower salary cap teams probably want the player to see what the market is then come back and talk about a lower number, but giving the player the chance to see what is truly out there.

Part of the business of the unguaranteed contracts. But, if contracts were guaranteed they would be much shorter. Aside from the QB position, don't think any other position would get more than a 3 year deal, which would be for the likes of a Donald, Mack, Garrett top end player. Everyone else a 1 or 2 year deal.

They'd best figure out how to sign him to a new contract, then.

*grits teeth*
no dead cap hit.

I think they did talk, but any player would want to test the market if they are being asked to rework their contract down vs. move base salary to signing bonus to free up cap space.

Dunlap would want to see what the market is for him and decide what he wants to do.
