Definitely will lean towards 4 weeks IMO. Would not rush him back. He can learn from the sideline for a little bit and come back hopefully more confident and able to have a better understanding of what NFL defenses are doing to him.

Learn from who exactly? Maybe the jets will sign another backup who never played in the NFL before.

What a shitty league this is, the Giants with how bad they've been have the 7th pick...

The Giants are a game and a half out of a WC spot right now.

Don't be surprised to see them win the next 2 games at KC, vs LV, and somehow get us all feeling that dreadful feeling of hope going into bye week with a 4-5 record. Then promptly getting smoked by Tampa and laying an egg vs Philly.

I fully expect this team to first ruin their draft position, and then promptly turn hope into despair shortly after. It's the Giants way.

LOL, this is absolutely the Giants Way. Meanwhile yet again, another NFC East rival - this time the Eagles - are going suck their way into another blue-chip prospect while we suck our way to 5-6 wins, a pick in the 8-12 range and reinforcement of Mara's belief that the team is gradually improving and we should run it back another year.

I'll give credit to Jones for cutting down on the turnovers, but I think it's also fair to mention that the entire offense has been simplified to avoid high-danger plays and to gameplan to try and protect against him turning the ball over.

i don’t think draft position matters bro. If they get a top 5 pick they’ll draft a CB Stingley who turns out to be an Eli Apple.

Fields really needs to sit a year in my opinion. Thought so before the draft, feel even more convinced of it now. Especially behind that pathetic offensive line.

He really has trouble reading the defense and going through progressions. He is very raw for a kid coming from a major university like OSU. I don’t know what the end product will be, but it really goes to show how knowledgeable the media experts are (particularly the talking heads who never played). It was unbelievable watching the Cowherds of the world act like it was some crazy conspiracy that he wasn’t 2OA.

Could have just signed a vet qb like everyone said to over the summer instead of giving up a pick now for one.
What an absolute horse shit maneuver. All summer everyone said the Jets need an experienced back up. They do f***ing nothing and end up having to give up a sixth for a turd that they could have acquired for nothing. I know sixths aren't worth much but still, on principle it looks terribly dumb.

In general I think Douglas is pretty good but sometimes I think he's one of those "I'm the smartest guy in the room" types.

Not that i think it was the best strategy, but I think they were trying to avoid media competition by not having a prominent backup. Knowing Wilson could struggle, fans were never gonna call for Mike White. Where they might be calling for Brisset/Tyrod Taylor/Beathard/etc

(side note - I can’t believe that dudes name is Beathard)

It was clear as day, and I agree with you on Douglass.

I disagree ... Wilson could’ve thrown 3 TD’s and 12 interceptions and the only way fans would’ve called for those guys would’ve been if they felt it was best for Wilson’s development. There’s a reason every team in a similar situation has a reliable vet QB on the roster.

yea I’m not saying that would be my strategy. I just think it was theirs. One way to completely avoid a QB controversy is having no backup.

Jets played good enough, good for Mike White, all I will say is the coach needs to be better on 4th down choices, you got 1 win.

MW5 in his first nfl start beats the number one team in the afc, first team to score over 25 against them and the first jet to throw for 400 yards this millennium! And knocks countless period in their suicide contest to boot!
