OT: 2021 Football Thread - Part II

just dont see why u have such conviction with jones not being able to lead the giants anywhere. hes looked good for the past 12 games outside of last week, despite constant injuries to pretty much the whole team, terrible oline play and questionable coaching. hes even significantly cut down on the fumbling since about the midway point last season.

Yeah other than last week's disaster, Jones has actually cut his turnovers down quite a bit since mid season last year.

He's been fine today while playing with an XFL offense.

a few really bad drops from his receivers today too. also one incompletetion on a roll out where he threw it behind engram cuz engram ran straight off the field lol. cant wait til engram is on another team.

Every team has injuries. Giants aren't special in that regard. When was the last time a Giants qb missed a start because of injury?

makes me question whether or not this has to do with judge not playing anyone in preseason. tough to go from training camp to an nfl game and everyone has gone down. count me in as someone who is not a fan of resting starters all of preseason.

The "can't protect the ball" is such an outdated take. He has 4 interceptions in 6 and a half games and one of them was on a Hail Mary and the other three were all in one game. Also has 3 fumbles lost, one of which was his fault. He also stopped with interceptions late last year and cut down on his fumbles. This take is like two years old. If you don't want to grade him on a curve because of Garrett and the O-line his big issue has been TDs in the red zone. But he was getting those under Shurmur, Garrett just sucks.
 
Jones had boring numbers but did exactly what he needed to do with no one around him. Error free game and made some plays. Meanwhile Darnold shit the bed. Most Giants fans wanted Darnold if we went QB.

If they showed up at all in a couple of other games this year the Giants would be 4-3 right now.
 
Justin Fields with at least two fumbles (haven't seen the whole game). Is he also turnover prone? Or is that just something we say about Daniel Jones?
 
Pet peeve of mine is a team getting the ball on their 25 with almost no time on the clock and running it to run out the clock rather than taking a knee (thank you Joe Judge for not doing that today), you risk a turnover that way and more importantly risk an injury. What's the end goal here? To show how much of tough non-quitter you are?

Fields really needs to sit a year in my opinion. Thought so before the draft, feel even more convinced of it now. Especially behind that pathetic offensive line.
