Well this Team went heavily Down when Army choose offensive minfed d-core over d-core which is defensively best of, and how that was build in first place.

And looks like Army is stubborm stats of mind. We need to hit Boston before he will Make change.

Those 3 good games before TDL was crucial overthinking. Not sum up overall season. Hesitate move not to act and sell at TDL.

This is the direction that the league is heading weather we like it or not and Army recognizes that. There will be a day when there won’t be a single defensively minded defensive core in the league.

Next game...

All defensive elbows to the head....

Jost set the bar, the league and refs endorsed it.

The Avs are the better team, but some of this stuff is idiotic.
I’d rather not. Sometimes you just lose to a better team which the Avs are. It’s been amplified with our injuries but even a healthy Blues squad isn’t favored against the Avs. I hope they lose cause Kadri is a shit stain and I never wanna see him raise the Cup, but can’t get too worked up over just being straight outclassed.

Armstrong needs to go
I knew I could count on your for this take. Its like if we had a forum parrot that knew how to say one thing.

Its pretty disappointing to see them going down so easily. I'm not sure if the Blues would have won a 7 game series with a healthy team, but they sure weren't going to be able to do it with taxi squad players against the Presidents Trophy winner. I think it could have been a competitive series with healthy Perron, Dunn, Faulk (and even Walman). But taking out 4 defenders from the line-up is tough to compensate for. Removing the leading scorer on the eve of the series is tough to compensate for.

This season has been a gong show in a lot of ways. I'm proud of the guys for fighting through the protocols and the injuries and making the playoffs. I hope they come out in Game 4 and play their best game of the year. But there's just way too many guys missing to believe they have a chance right now.

I don't hate the Avs, and I'd root for them over Vegas for sure. I think Jost should have gotten a game for the elbow that apparently broke Bortuzzo's jaw. I think Landeskog is a dick. But how could you not enjoy watching MacKinnon play? If Edmonton bows out, he'd be the most exciting player left in the playoffs.

As for the Blues, I just want to get this over with.

I know...I like the hyperbole

Defensive elbow to the head?

Only in the NHL's idiotic and shifting set of rules...

I don’t even know if it’s really being outclassed. Like you said. That Avs team is top notch, cup caliber. I have no issue losing to a better team. It’s sports, it happens.

do you just not like the word then? the blues really haven't had a competitive edge in any of the three games to work from

Outclassed and outworked are 2 totally different things for me. The Avalanche have outworked the Blues in 95% of this series. Outclassed? Not so much.

that didn't really clear it up and kind of makes it seem like you just don't like the word as the descriptor

what is outclassed? the blues had a miniscule chance that's only gotten smaller as the series wanes to a sweeping close. how much more happens before we are outclassed?

The Avs could win Sunday 4-1 and I don’t really feel as if they outclassed the blues. Maybe like you said, it’s a word issue for me. The blues still showed up and attempted to win each and every game. Now.. if there were instances where the team wasn’t hustling, or disinterested in the issue at hand then we could start to gander off into that outclassed but as it sits right now, at least for me, The blues have been beaten and outworked. Not outclassed.

They've also gotten their fair share of penalty breaks, and some of their goals on the powerplay have been insane. Outside of MacKinnon, Rantanen, and Makar, I'm not really impressed with the other guys. The rest play a good supporting cast, which McDavid and Drai do not have, but people need to stop grouping Landeskog with those superstars. He's on Schenn's level, if anything.

Whelp, down 3-0, doesn't feel great...They exceeded my expectations from before the season by even making the playoffs.

It will be interesting to see what our lineup is going to look like next year.

Do they make a helmet that will actually stay on Torey Krugs' head?

Also thought it was funny that when he got in a scrum last night everyone just hugged in a pack from both teams as if to say, "It's ok guys, he'll tire himself out soon here then we'll put him down for a nap nap."

I’d take Landy over Tarasenko and Schwartz

No, Landeskog is definitely better and has been throughout the course of their careers.

Well the fake season v.2 is nearly complete, and while that's mildly disappointing at least the Avs are educating us on what we need. Clearly, the soft O-minded D isn't working. Eddie's loss was a bigger deal than we thought -- as an example. We have Kyrou, presumably Perron, and a couple other shifty speedy guys. We need the beef back. TB learned from us in 2019 exactly what they needed to get over the hump, because it's exactly what we needed. So now we need another bruiser on D, a bigger, rangier guy to break things up and a charismatic bigger forward with some hands. Basically, we need 2019's roster put back together with different names. Why we finally found the winning formula only to blow it up is so Bluesy, but I think Army's noticing the deficiencies.

I don't think it really has to do with "offense minded" vs. "defense minded." Sure Krug and Faulk are "offensive defensemen" but the previous "defense minded" defense had a stronger transition game overall, and moving the puck out of the defensive zone into the offensive zone efficiently is both the best way to play defense and generate offense from the defense in the NHL today.

Now I don't think Armstrong thought it'd be an issue for us with Krug and Faulk, but apparently... it is.

This season has been absolutely horrible, from Bobby's death to the COVID outbreaks to the serious injuries to Tarasenko being a ghost to this shellacking to bad reffing to those stupid Coyotes just UGH. Get it over with, better luck next year.
With the addition of the Seattle Kraken, starting next year provided we are back to normal divisions, the Coyotes are now going to be in the Central with us too.

Most prolific HF Blues GDT posters: "The Avs are such cry-babies. They complain to the refs all the time when they get hit with wooden sticks"

Also most prolific HF Blues GDT posters: "Waaaaah. The big meanie Avs fan posted in out GDT. Mods, please stop him from breaking my fragile worldview. It hurts my feelings to read other people's opinions that differ from mine."
How about that Tarasenko
