I remember seeing a video interview with Brian Burke when he was with the G.M. Of Toronto.
Burke said the one of the main reason they moved the Maple Leafs minor league team to Toronto was so that it would be more desirable and an added selling point to undrafted College, CHL and European players.
When the Hartford agreement is up Drury should consider moving the Wolfpack to Belmont, Uniondale or Brooklyn and also incorporate the things that you suggested.

Uniondale would be a good spot if the aisles don’t claim it first and move from Bridgeport. I can’t see the Rangers minor league team in the Islanders building, and we saw what the results were in Brooklyn.

Barron will be interesting to follow. What I think he did more than anything last season was to establish a presence in the high scoring areas and bury the chances he got. He played OK, but not good/great besides that. Looking at like a contribution POV, Richards was from the little I saw heads and shoulders above Barron in HFD.

But Barron could transform better. I am however not sold on that he wouldn’t benefit from getting a couple more seasons in HFD.

Also think it’s essential to make clear from Day 1 that it will be of value to the team if Barron plays a really gritty game, even dropping the gloves at times. For way to long, players coming into this organization has paid no attention to that side of the game. Nobody is forced to do anything and if it isn’t in someone’s repetoir it isn’t. BUT, I know how desperate these guys are to make it and how eager they are to help the team if they can (the biggest joke I ever heard is how it would have been disrespectful to Geertsen to call him up after the Wilson incident, I am sure he litterary would have sacrificed, maybe not his right arm but at least a finger, for a game in the NHL). In short, if Barron plays a tough gritty game his odds are a heck of a lot bigger than if he goes Gauthier on us.

That asks the question. If he’s playing 1st line minutes in Hartford and his wingers game is not as mature as his or would it be better for him to play bottom 6 minutes on the big club with more talented players?

I mean it depends. 4th line minutes not so much. 3rd line? absolutely.

You don't have to worry about Barron and what kind of minutes he will play, he's kind of a chameleon as he can play pretty much any game you want him to. I honestly think by seasons end either Strome or Chytil will be moved and he will be in the 3c spot, I'm not sure if he starts the year with the big club because i think Blais and Reaves will be in the lineup but i wouldn't be surprised to see him as a regular by Christmas. We just seem to have too many players right now.

I don't think collectively we hate our coaches. Never hated Neilson. I only hated Campbell years after he was gone and the bias against Russians was revealed.

Never hated Renney/Torts/AV.

Quinn just wasn't a good coach. Sick of hearing about him, sick of talking about him, just tired of him in general. You know the mood you're in when you're hungry and you're forced to eat Ellios pizza but you have all these other great pizzerias around you? That's how I feel about anything to do with Quinn.

You not mentioning Muckler means you clearly hated that motherf***er (as I did - after he ruined Stefan Cherneski's career).

Jones might need some time in Hartford, but the kid has an enormous offensive ceiling. But man, I’d guess he was 17 years old with his build.

This kid will WOW people with the puck. I question how well he’ll play without it.

Morgan has the facial bone structure of a 28 year old lol. He’s the one prospect that I think makes the team.

Othmann is at least 2-3 years away. But he seems hungry and humble. I see some Callahan in his game. I know that sounds crazy but he plays with that edge, has a terrific motor, and possess’s legit talent.

It’s a good time to be a Rangers fan. Even our secondary prospects look like potential beasts.

I want to hear more about Cuylle. He’s that one kid nobody talks about, yet has freakish size and potential talent to make for one hell of a winger
.

I hope Cuylle can be our version of Maxime Comtois lite. I believe he has that type of talent.

Richards is the precise type of guy we need to keep finding as NCAA UDFAs. I feel like most of the time the bigger named signings (Vesey, etc.) just don't amount to much. I'd much rather dig for 3rd/4th line types since those are the guys you inevitably win with. Hope to grab some more soon. Really liked the last NCAA class we had.

That's what 32 out of 32 teams do

I was referring to fans reaching conclusions on the future of a player based on an interview with the press.

As to team interviews of players, any personnel decisions that come out of those interviews will mostly serve to downgrade idiots. Selections made on draft day are almost entirely based on the physical, not the mental. If a team thinks two players are of indistinguishable talents, the way they interview might tip the final decision.
