This is good news! Hope he is a big plus contributor
This is good news! Hope he is a big plus contributor
I remember, in 2010, when Canada lost to the U.S. in the Round Robin at the Olympics, there were endless people on the internet saying, "I was the first to say 'This Team Canada Will Not Medal!!!" Of course, it all disappeared when Canada won. It always does because then everyone is a fan and no one ever gave up hope.Just wait, if Canada looks bad in one of the exhibition games or the goaltending looks shaky in one of them things will turn very fast from how incredibly strong this team looks to how hopeless the situation is. That's the nature of things every year but this year we have so little information that it's bound to be even more erratic than usual.
Does seem weird.. I could see him being the 13th forward and plugging in if someone is struggling or is injured. Not sure of the reasoning.. the games we got to see he certainly stood outI'm surprised Mercer is still an extra
But remember, this team is DEEP. Somebody is going to have to sit.My guess is he has a small injury. Hard to see a guy like Mercer digging it and needing to be benched for poor play or lack of effort.
Over which player(s)?Mercer should definitely be in the lineup.
Mercer should definitely be in the lineup.
For sure, good post and I agree with your assessment of Holloway, he can really finish though I feel. That goal he scored this year for Wisconsin coming around the net and beating the goalie high was nice. I liked him a lot when he was with Canada at the Hlinka/Gretzky, he’s always reliable and having highly skilled and creative players with him here will bring out the best in him. I’d love to see Holloway on a line with Newhook and TomasinoDefinitely.
Holloway is a very good two way player and murders D men on the forecheck. He’s also good on the face off dot as he plays centre at Wisconsin. Can play up and down the lineup.
He’s not the best stick handler if there’s a knock to his game, but he’s got Newhook as a centre who is an excellent stick handler and should be the main puck carrier on that line. However, given everything else Holloway does well he’ll play a major role. He just hounds the puck relentlessly and backchecks with full effort every shift.
Holloway is kind of the definition of the kind of player and forechecker “Wave after wave attack” that Canada has always used when successful internationally. Indeed, it’s obvious when you see a team playing the a Canadian Way. Very strong on the boards and on the cycle at both ends of the ice.
Really, I like all of these lines up front. I’m expecting the Dach-Cozens line to be the #1 unit, but I think Holloway-Newhook-Pelletier will play big minutes given the versatility and gumption that line has. They’ll hem teams in and wear down D men on the forecheck and cycle.
Zary as 2LW is interesting. I’d personally put perfetti there. Quinn looks to be benefiting from Tourigny as a coach. I’d hope McMichael also gets more time than a 4th line role.
LOL!!!11 days 8 hours and 30 minutes (approx) til puck drop!
that's it. that's the post.
Have a great start to the week, folks.
I guess its pretty safe to say these are the lines we can expect to see when things get going. No changes
It wasn't even remotely close before they were drafted. Dach was even a surprise at #3.not lol worthy. It's pretty close and he outplayed the 2 guys drafted ahead of him.
agreed.. the only line we can be sure of now is the Cozens, Dach line as the #1 line. They should be able to roll 4 lines with the depth they have what ever line goes out there is going to seriously test the depth of whoever matches up against them. How they are listed in practice means nothing.
Perfetti McMichael Krebs would be the first line some years. Probably be the second line when WJC s get going.
I know lots on the oilers board had Dach top 3, personally to my eye he had obvious first overall talent and wasn’t shocked he went 3rd. Chicago did their homeworkIt wasn't even remotely close before they were drafted. Dach was even a surprise at #3.
All three had average at best rookie seasons and its going to take more than a good play in series to make Dach the best forward from the draft, even right now.
