Line Combos: 2021 Boston Bruins Lines

I don't mind Ritchie playing down on the 4th. Basically delegated to hit people 5v5 and be a PP specialist. Maybe you stick with 74-13-12 and put your newly acquired RW with 63-37. I dunno, but a lot of different ways tomorrow can go.
If we care about handedness and not playing guys on their off-wings, then you could go Debrusk-Coyle-Lazar and Ritchie-Kuraly-Wags. Though Ritchie's worked really hard and played very well this year, and to be bumped to the 4th line seems unfair to him. Same with Freddy getting bumped out of the lineup altogether. Though it makes for excellent depth for us and the renewed ability to roll 4.

Thinking about how dynamic a Hall/Krejci/Pastrnak line could be is what turned my head around on Hall. You have speed, creativity, one of the best shooters in the league... And a guy who can shift the pace and throw defences right off. If Pasta needs a playmaking presence on the left side (like Marchand), well you have that now.

You have two lines that SHOULD be very very difficult to defend against.

That gives Coyle/Ritchie/DeBrusk all kinds of space and they can grind you down and control the puck. Score dirty.

The options you have on the fourth are... You just build it however you want whenever you want to. Kuraly, Wagner, Studnicka, Lazar, Frederic, Kuhlman... Hell maybe Kase? Swiss army line with a ton of guys who can play.

LW/RW is one niggle. But otherwise we are set up front

I keep Smith cooking with 63 and 37 and see how Hall-Krejci-Pasta does. That might be a bit too quick and dynamic for Krejci’s style but I think you need to try it.

This opens up lots of options for sure.

Marchand/Bergeron/Smith
Hall/Krecji/Pastrnak
DeBrusk/Coyle/Ritchie
Frederic/Kuraly/Lazar
Wagner

Grzelcyk-McAvoy
Reilly - Carlo
Lauzon-Miller
Zboril

*Top 6 forwards are set, but can switch RW when things get stale.

*Lazar could be tried on Coyle's RW from time to time to shake it up.

*Zboril platoons in with bottom pair D on regular basis to give a different look and provide rest to Miller.

I actually like your forward lines more than the one's a just posted below. I forgot about Kuhlman, I think he is better at the moment than Frederic, although that is the type of thing that can change on a dime.

I don't get Clifton over Miller at all. Miller is a big impact player when he is in the lineup. Clifton is meh, I actually slightly prefer Kampfer.

What has Ritchie done to be demoted below Hall and Debrusk? In the 2021 season he's been a better player than both.

I agree.

Clearly I think Hall will slot in above him or they wouldn't have traded for him, but DeBrusk? No way. I'd throw DeBrusk on the 4th line and let him be invisible playing fewer minutes.

The Hall one to start I get, but Ritchie isn't a great defensive player, he's been one of the few guys who has produced offense for this team this year, and I don't think belongs on the 4th line at all and shouldn't end up there just because he's a left-shot.

That one game Kase plays and the forwards are some combo of

Marchand-Bergeron-Pastrnak
Hall-Krejci-Smith
DeBrusk-Coyle-Kase
Ritchie-Kuraly-Lazar/Wagner

will be pretty dope

I really feel sorry for Blidh. Lazar will take his spot. Blidh needs to try his luck with another organistion.

Nashville is likely making the playoffs amd not trading Ekholm, though I agree with looking to add a more meaningful defenseman.

DeBrusk, for now, is likely the 3RW, but I agree with trying to move him for a true RW.

If they can only make one move --- I'd rather they put JDB on the RW of line 3 and get a #3 defenseman.

Cassidy is kind of an idiot, isn’t he

Smith was putting up great numbers with PB and BM so naturally he will keep them separated

Smith also had the only goal last night, playing on the 3rd line. He looked great with Marchand and Bergy, but he doesn't need them to succeed. I support keeping Pasta with those two, and I like Smith as the shooter on line 2.
