I dint get it. For like $6 a month you can watch basically every game across the league, plus a bunch of other sporting events. Some folks I think just like to complain.
It isn't 50 cents a year or a thousand bucks a month
it is the big F*** You - that the whole concept represents to someone who already pays extra to watch the games; and now has to d*ck with something extra and pay extra extra (no matter how much or little) for just a couple of games
I haven't watched anything on ESPN other than an occasional college football game or a Cardinals game for years and ESPN+ isn't something I would ever watch

I don't want to watch every game across the league. I pay like $100 a month for cable so I can watch all of the Blues games like I've done for the last decade. I'll complain all day long about this. I need another $6 streaming service like hole in the head. When does it stop?

Is there a streaming service I can pay for that will let me watch all of the Blues games and not be blacked out? Guessing the answer is still no.

That's the thing. $6 is literally meaningless to me. I could pay it and not even notice it at the end of the day. It really is just the audacity of it all. It's a slap in the face to your customers. It's obnoxious and anti-consumer.

I don't want to sign up for their stupid bull**** streaming service I will use 4 times a year. Kiss my ass ESPN. Kiss my ass NHL.

I give them so much freaking money and this is what they do to us? Just squeeze out a little bit more. Add one stupid hassle to our already hassle filled lives?

They can shove ESPN+ all the way up where the sun doesn't shine.

Agreed with this.

People in the STL market having to pay for this game is ridiculous as f***. And it just makes me even happier to stream it online to not give them my money. They can f*** off.

I don’t get the outrage. Streaming services have made watching affordable. If I am pissed about anything it’s cable monopolies overcharging for a bunch of stuff I don’t want and is chalk full of inferior programming all while playing games with exclusivity rights for sports broadcasting.

I’m 41, have been a blues fan since 12.

I’ve watched so many games.

I cannot listen to this one. The announcers are too bad, enjoy.

If I’m no longer around it’s because this.

Its a little weird for me. I'd have canceled DirecTV and used streaming TV exclusively, even though I've had NHL Center Ice on DTV for many years. But my 92y old father-in-law understands how to watch his TV with his DTV remote. Switch to streaming, and he'll be at sea. Its worth it to me to overpay to allow him that small pleasure in his twilight years.

So, I've paid for NHL hockey in my mind. Yet I am having to juggle a streaming device, navigate idiotic blackouts of multiple teams when I live more than 8 hours from the closest arena, and having to tolerate poor quality service - like when I missed the opening goal for a game that didn't start streaming on time, etc. Its pretty damn annoying.

I'd like to switch to a streaming service when I choose to, not when I'm coerced to do so. And I sure don't want to have to do both.

One other detail with the streaming vs cable/satellite discussion. With DirecTV I get to watch the pregame and postgame programs. With ESPN+ I don't have that option. It seems a little random how much post-game I've been getting. Usually it cuts off part-way through without warning.

NHL.TV was like that too. It started with nothing, but over time they added more of it. I would hope ESPN+ follows suit.

In my defense my shit always works with both teams caps, roster design, and nobody has ever called me a homer in my valuations.
I think the first rule for any trade is for there to be a plausible motivation for both teams to make the move. That's been my biggest criticism. But my comment you replied to was just a friendly ribbing, not mean-spirited. You don't see me making trade proposals. Its hard.

for sure I never felt you were rude at all. Criticism is dope. And I got no issue being wrong. I’m just enjoying some creativity. And truly I enjoy the criticism or why would I keep torturing y’all lol.

it does become impossible to find the perfect trade.

Most trades result in one sided perception here. (Overall forum)

I’ll stand by my valuations even if unpopular. I’ll adjust them according to prescedent set. And I bet ya I’ll be close to right when the stuff goes down,

or Ill feel stupid.
But I feel I got a good handle on this.

Im adjusting my concepts on both you and them. I enjoy it, is what it is

You're paying way too much for cable. Spectrum's non-bundled TV package that includes Bally Sports is $76 a month for the first year after all the fees, equipment, etc. After that 1st year it is simple to get that rate again. Just tell them you are leaving if they can't give you the new customer price. I've never had them not offer the intro-rate once we get into the process of disconnecting service. Even if they did let you leave, then you can just go to DirecTV for cheaper than Spectrum's non-intro price. But again, I've never had a service provider not offer the intro rate once I went down the road to actually cancelling.

If you also have internet at your house, bundling it with cable will save you a few extra bucks. Cable companies are dogshit and Bally has become the worst offender at refusing to make their channel available for non-exploitative prices. I'm not sitting here and telling you that $76 a month is a good deal. It's ludicrous. But you absolutely shouldn't be paying a dime more than the minimum required. Call your provider and threaten to leave if you aren't getting the intro rate. You are paying $25+ a month more than market value to watch the Blues.

Edit: It's also worth noting that FSMW/Bally hasn't carried more than 72 regular season Blues games in over a decade. The most they have ever covered was 75 back when the team was bad and the national channels didn't want anything to do with our games. Whatever price you are willing to pay for the local Blues broadcast, know that this cost is only for about 85% of the team's games. That's how it has been for years and it isn't changing any time soon because the league makes dump trucks of money from selling a robust national TV package (now 2 of them).

Yes! I hate that feature of ESPN, too! We didn't have that problem with NHL-TV.

The hits just keep coming. Now RT18 expected to miss tomorrow with a lingering injury (day-to-day). Blues might be down to 17 skaters tomorrow night.
