I don't want to watch every game across the league. I pay like $100 a month for cable so I can watch all of the Blues games like I've done for the last decade. I'll complain all day long about this. I need another $6 streaming service like hole in the head. When does it stop?
You're paying way too much for cable. Spectrum's non-bundled TV package that includes Bally Sports is $76 a month for the first year after all the fees, equipment, etc. After that 1st year it is simple to get that rate again. Just tell them you are leaving if they can't give you the new customer price. I've never had them not offer the intro-rate once we get into the process of disconnecting service. Even if they did let you leave, then you can just go to DirecTV for cheaper than Spectrum's non-intro price. But again, I've never had a service provider not offer the intro rate once I went down the road to actually cancelling.
If you also have internet at your house, bundling it with cable will save you a few extra bucks. Cable companies are dogshit and Bally has become the worst offender at refusing to make their channel available for non-exploitative prices. I'm not sitting here and telling you that $76 a month is a good deal. It's ludicrous. But you absolutely shouldn't be paying a dime more than the minimum required. Call your provider and threaten to leave if you aren't getting the intro rate. You are paying $25+ a month more than market value to watch the Blues.
Edit: It's also worth noting that FSMW/Bally hasn't carried more than 72 regular season Blues games in over a decade. The most they have ever covered was 75 back when the team was bad and the national channels didn't want anything to do with our games. Whatever price you are willing to pay for the local Blues broadcast, know that this cost is only for about 85% of the team's games. That's how it has been for years and it isn't changing any time soon because the league makes dump trucks of money from selling a robust national TV package (now 2 of them).
