I know Knies said he is going to University but if he didn't could he play on the Marlies?
Yes, but no need to rush him. Does more harm than good pushing kids into pro-hockey before they're ready. He didn't exactly dominate the USHL level (had a rough start) and was a 2nd round pick. Minnesota is a good school with top-tier facilities (any Big 10 football school is going to have high-end facilities, and Minnesota takes hockey seriously). It's about getting the best finished player, not rushing them to that stage.

I was just more curious then anything else I really don't know anything about the kid other then his domination in the recent tournament

Usually they are second rounders because they are expected to take longer. Most GMs don't know if they will be around in 3 years. Chances are they won't.

Wasn't really domination, he played really well, that's all.

What Raty and Hirvonen did was domination.

Well the Finns did most of their damage on the PP. Knies was more of a threat all around imo.

Hirvonen 6gms 8gls 10pts
Knies 5gms 4gls 7pts
Niemela 6gms 2gls 6pts

I'd say all 3 were pretty dominant.

Was Amirov in this thing aswell?

Also was Niemla looking good aside from production? I remember he sustained a pretty serious injury last year.

Do you guys think Knies would’ve been selected to go to the summer showcase had there not have been 2 USA teams?

Not sure, probably not as he started the tournament on what was considered the "2nd" team I believe. He was elevated to rhe top team as the camp went along, which is great.

Big players can take longer too but hell of an add for them. Super happy with the pick.

"Auston" Matthew Knies..., Auston Matthews, Mats Sundin.

Toronto St. Matthews.
