Comets win the draw and send it down.

Daws goes for a goal and it's wide.

Score on the PP 6 on 4.

:49 seconds to go.

4-2 Comets.

Greer was such an underrated acquisition in the Isles trade. I get that he's not going to be an NHL regular, but what he does at the AHL level for that team, helping them win games and help establish a winning culture is important for the guys who are going to be NHL regulars.

With the last couple of seasons showing a few late bloomers I’m not sure Greer can’t claw his way into the NHL. He probably needs more than a token callup though.

He did it!!!!!!!!!!!!! He won the draw.

Going back to UTICA!

4-2 Comets.

Super effort by the boys to man.

Nico redemption this evening. 30 of 32 and many of them more than the better variety.

The 5 -man sag does not work!!!!!!!!!!!!

It took Dineen 75 games, 2 of which were the last 2 playoff games before tonight to figure it out. Playing the body no matter where the puck carrier is in your own zone and arriving at the next man when its passed to him, etc, etc is how you keep teams from running around in open space. They were only able to do that tonight late in the game with 2-man advantages due to penalty calls. It resulted in 2 goals for them.

Ken Dryden explained this issue eloquently in his book "The Game" (the best hockey book ever written). He said the fan will never understand it and the players learn to accept it and try hard not to fall victim to it. The refs are influenced by hostile crowds in home buildings. However, the biggest non written rule they follow is to manage the game. They don't want scores to get out of hand. They will even up calls even though they believe in their hearts they are not doing it.

5 PPS for the Amerks in the 3rd period with 3 in the last 10 minutes speaks for itself. It still took them until the last 5 minutes to get 2, both on PPs and the last one came in a 6 on 4 situation with :50 seconds left.

Well one of them used to. Jordan Samuels-Thomas is a rookie ref this year and a former Amerks player.
Hard to believe the AHL would risk the chance of bias as well as the claim of such by an opponent. As the ref, why would you accept that assignment? It reeks of heart in the wrong place calls right off the bat.

Breaking news: Nikita Okhotyuk traded to the team farthest from NJ. When reached for comment NJ GM Ton Fitzgerald explained that he has no idea what league or continent that team may be part of but that’s where Okhotyuk is headed.
Did you forget the sarcasm emoji?

Most of my posts are singular and and yet you see them keep piling up one after another. I even rebooted.

this one did it as well.

I think they changed the settings on the message board a week or two ago. Consecutive posts by the same person are now combined into one. The first couple days the option was enabled, there was a blue tag that said "Messages automatically combined" or something like that. Now it just combines them without the distraction.
