I was in 206 last night. Quick never left his crease. He’s not a fighter at all.Dont know if they showed it, but I'm pretty sure Quick was coming down the ice. The ref was pointing straight to center ice when Smith got involved.
Is it a penalty if Smith and Quick fight at center ice but never cross the red line?
He did get basically walked by Hyman and almost kicked the puck in the net.. Im not sure what he adds that Spence didnt... its a sideways move to me. If you wanted to settle down the D-zone to me you would replace Durzi. but he's bringing alot of other things to the table so im happy he did not do that. And he still played pretty well......
Be interesting to see lineup changes if any for game #5, you KNOW EDM is gonna switch something up
I think Durzi's been neutered on the PP by Kopitar. He just plays catch with Kopi on the outside and doesn't do anything creative anymore. He did get basically walked by Hyman and almost kicked the puck in the net.. One of the PPs last night was just sad. Durzi and Kopi made probably 4 or 5 passes back and forth between each other in a row before getting a lazy shot attempt as time was running out. Kaliyev is an obvious upgrade over Iafallo on the PP, you can tell Kaliyev loves to be on the PP and wants the puck at all times, congrats to Todd for finally putting the leading PP goal scorer on PP1, Jack Adams indeed. Now if only they could utilize Kaliyev in a way where he gets more shooting opportunities, he's often handcuffed in the bumper position and Kopitar is too telegraphed on the PP to skillfully get it to him.I think Durzi's been neutered on the PP by Kopitar. I think other teams are stepping up on him more. Teams have tape on Durzi now and it makes a differenceI think Durzi's been neutered on the PP by Kopitar. He just plays catch with Kopi on the outside and doesn't do anything creative anymore.
10th shutout in the playoffs becoming the all time American Goalie in Playoff shutouts.Shutout souvenir
Not any more important than any other game though right?10th shutout in the playoffs becoming the all time American Goalie in Playoff shutouts.
Yea I couldn't believe what I was watching. There's no real deception in those passes either. Not even a half assed fake shot. One of the PPs last night was just sad. I still do not understand the edler misconduct. Or every misconduct last night outside of Kane.
You got your application all ready to go for the off-season when Sturm is let go? You can skate, right? One of the PPs last night was just sad. I agree but the goal counted so I would make that deal any day of the weekHow did Edmonton not end up with 3 penalties on the Kings 3rd goal? The initial penalty. Then Nurse tripping Moore after the goal. And then the failed challenge. Why can Nurse trip a guy so blatantly after the play is over and not get a penalty for that? I thought the NHL referees were being taught to penalize the instigator only?
Do you not think it is fair to question the PP and PK given lack of success for such a long period. WE are not talking about a one or two week stretchYou got your application all ready to go for the off-season when Sturm is let go? You can skate, right?
And the other thing I noticed was Kempe hardly touched the puck and was not often in a shooting position.. This couldve been due to PK strategy to let Kopi have the puck and cover Kempe more I didnt analyze that.. but they need to find Kempe more if possible. (Edit: I misread your post where you wrote Kempe but touching the boards, I misread Kopitar, so my post seems a bit redundant)Yea I couldn't believe what I was watching. Then you have Kempe's butt almost touching the boards on the faceoff dot taking one timers. Not gonna score much from there.
I'd be content with two more -- getting out of the first round would be the ultimate 'cherry on top' for this season.I'm still BUZZING over this win. I want this feeling again and again. How about 14 more?
The problem with penalties is they are 2 min or greater no matter what.. in some cases it would be more fair to levy the minutes more on a continuum which e.g. that guy gets 2, the other guy gets 1 based on what happened.. it should be a relatively big threshold to give a team a man advantage ie I do want the refs to err on the side of evening it up...with that said, they shouldve called penalties on Kane and Nurse earlier last night. It's simple, they realized they lost control by not tossing those two idiots in Kane and Nurse earlier, and felt they had to then, but just *had* to take a King with them for reasons.
Nurse was trying to get kicked out for like the last 10 minutes but it wasn't until Moore got his revenge that they chucked them both, whereas if they would have just exercised the correct control earlier, it wouldn't have gotten to that point.
In other words, incompetence.
I think if LA can get out of this round they can take Dallas or Calgary. Its Colorado and Minnesota that will be hard for the Kings even if they are on top of their game.I'd be content with two more -- getting out of the first round would be the ultimate 'cherry on top' for this season.
What do we think of a possible DAL/LAK 2nd round?
