Problem with this is they need to not get owned on Special teams and they need Quick to be good, two things that they haven't been able to rely on.​

Drivesaitl : Without Doughty, the Kings were a perfect opponent/test for Edmonton. A team missing their crucial player, but with still enough jam to make games interesting and make you have to win. Unfortunatly the Oilers have only been earnestly interested in winning 2 of the games.​

What was the explanation given on why Grundstrum's 1st goal counted? Did he push it in with his stick? Cause if he pushes it in with anything but his stick, it wouldn't count, right?

The only thing you can see on the replay is Grundstrom pushing the puck toward the net with the portion of the shaft of his stick that is between his two hands. I can see why that call was not overturned.

I don’t know why Lias Andersson doesn’t get a game. Vilardi is not good.

Guy next to me tonight made a good point about the power play needing a front of the net guy. Vilardi is 6'3 and they can't even send him out there for that. I hate to say it but I would be terrified to put him on the ice at all. When he was out there it always felt like something bad might happen, and I don't think Kupari and Kaliyev are the reasons for that. It's an instant 'Oilers start swarming' kind of situation.

I kinda get why Andersson doesn't play because in some ways it's like Todd is throwing darts at a board guessing which bottom six wings are going to have a good game on any given night. And sometimes none of them do and we absolutely suck in some large part due to that.

Grundström demonstrated exactly what his upside is tonight. Forget the actual goals he played a very complete game. There was no evidence to show the goal should be disallowed so it had to stay with the on ice call.

The set up from Danault for the Moore goal was outstanding playmaking and demonstrates the chemistry those guys have together. Good that Brown was nicely in the mix offensively and around the net, loving the scrum where he went for the puck making sure he got enough of Smith to p**s him off.

The Stetcher goal demonstrated for me why Edmonton won’t win the Cup (even if they win this series). McDavid was just floating around in no man’s land looking for a breakout opportunity leaving Stetcher in acres of space. He had so much time to shot with zero puck pressure. McDavid is a great player and an Elite offensive talent without doubt but he’s more interested in cheating offensively than doing the hard work needed to win - his buddy is no different. He epitomises the overuse of the term ‘Generational’ by fans and the media because whilst he has all the talent to be Generation but he’s certainly not there yet. That’s said we supposedly have about half a dozen generational players currently which really shows people don’t understand what generational means

Great result, playing how we need to. Quick thinks it 2012 at times which is great and I liked Edler tonight getting pucks into the slot area. I still want to see Byfield back in the lineup because I’m constantly thinking about the long term benefits of doing so. Put him in for Vilardi next game and keep the lessons coming. Hopefully Spence comes back in, assuming he’s fit. If they can get Arvidsson fit that’ll really make things interesting as it’ll give us a sig boost.
