GDT: 2021-22 season game 6 LA Kings vs St. Louis Blues @5:00pm 10/25/21

Brown was stripped of the C because he and Sutter didn't get along
Lombardi was let go because he was one of if not the worst GM in the league post 2014
Yeah man. I don't see it as this black and white. He made some really bad contract decisions but also the only GM to bring any kind of success to LA. I think he should have had a longer leash. Especially after seeing what we have in front of us now.

Actually, yeah, based on yet another cave in the game before I will gladly take a game like this where the Vilardi's and Kaliyev's give a good accounting of themselves and don't get buried by double and triple shifting of the loaded top line.

Sure, Anderson had a couple of poor plays and yes, Kupari looks to be a half-trick pony, but these guys have to go through this to get better. This team isn't going anywhere soon so get the bad learning moments out of the way. They just can't start shoe gazing and let 3 become 6 without any kind of response. Those aren't teachable, they are demoralizing.
I don’t disagree.

i feel like he got all the leash he deserved, those were some awful desperation moves that honestly are handicapping this team right now to some extent.. i don't really hold ill will, but his time was up

i think it's also a little tainted by the horrible product we've been presented since. won't be all too surprised to see these arvidsson/danault moves compared in the future to deano's dumpster dives. i just hope these are tradeable.

What is Blake's vision for this team anyway?

he promised some kind of a young fast speed high tempo exciting goal scoring LA team

but really he's just a random prospects collector that tries to assemble a Dean Lombardi-like roster MINUS ALL THE GRIT AND GRIND

adding Danault this off season was the biggest sign that he is completely clueless

#FIREBLAKE!

The reality is tearing a team down to it's scraps and letting your scouts pick highly touted prospects with early picks is easy. Roster building is tough, and that's where Blake is failing (along with his coaching hires)

I actually agree with this statement. It's pretty accurate.

Richards, Brown, Nolan, Clifford, Williams, Stoll, Fraser, Lewis, Westgarth, Richardson, that team was full of those hard working energy guys.

Hell yeah! Who brought in those guys? Certainly not that incompetent GM who traded for Lucic, Sekera and Bishop. That guy definitely proved he had no idea on how to win a cup.

Close to it.

People had to know that this many young guys in the roster was going to be rough. Not every draft prospect is the next star. Heck most draft picks would love to just touch NHL ice. When you promote players premature it makes it worse.
Is there a single player being "promoted" though? We have injuries on defense and guys in over their hand but on offense?

Vilardi, Kaliev and especially Kupari were the few highlights today.
Especially Kupari?

No, just no. He has ONE offensive move and two of the three times he never even got the shot off.

He's the Buffalo Gal - goin' round the outside, round the outside, round the outside.

Vilardi and Kaliyev were miles ahead of him.

Whats more sensible : Dwight King on the 1st line or Kempe anywhere near the top 6 the would probably be 50/50 in a poll. You put players where they dont belong creates strange dynamics on the ice and in the locker room.

Kings #24 in the league with 14 GF. Remove the 6 spot against Vegas and they have 8 in 5 games. 1.6 GPG is pathetic.

The current regime took over on the premise they could keep contending for cups, just needed to sprinkle some speed into the lineups.
