Holy f*** what a gutsy win. That's a lesson learning win. Especially after that Boston loss sent them into a bit of a spiral, and the game in Dallas, it's nice to see them dig down deep against CBus but especially tonight, I love that they despite being clearly totally gassed decided "okay thats enough" of getting pushed around and started taking the game right back at Boston. Not a "pretty" win by any means but I'd argue the grittiest one of the season and one of the most important. From 7-0 at home to a 3-2 comeback OT win on a road with a depleted roster on game 8 in 13 nights, that's a character win, a playoff team win.

Maatta has been a beast lately.

Durzi stepped up like a madman every time he does when someone gets hurt.

Hope Drew is just bruised...if he's down again as well as Anderson...and Lemieux and Arvidsson...we may be in for a ride.

I know I'm grumpy in so many ways about it but the depth of this roster continues to step up in these situations, Grundstrom was ready to play and had an impact all night, AA might be the secret 3v3 weapon since he gives no f***s about structure and is an individual menace loaded with talent.

Moverare next man up?

Was thinking 2/3 of the way through the game the team and Cal deserved a point, that would have been a good reward and a great way to end such a shitty luck trip. I was stoked when they tied it for 1 and figured it would be an OTL with Kempe out and guys just totally depleted. Imagine my pleasant surprise.

May be Spence is next man up...

I'm a little surprised the Bruins don't play Pasta or Hall in OT. I think they have much bigger threats on the team to play in OT than whatever that was...

Not trying to dance on the Bruins because I love that squad but the little storyline of the Kings getting demolished 7-0 that game and gutting it out to come back twice and win 3-2 in OT tonight is a nice miniseries.

Kings were absolutely on fire going into that home game and Boston just totally dismantled them 7-0. Kings were looking good, Boston was better, but a couple of bad breaks had the Bs up 2-0, then a few more bounces and it became a rout with a million oddman breaks and the Kings just completely folding.

They took some of those bad habits into Dallas and were looking good, up 3-1, before they shotgunned themselves in the face and handed Dallas 3 goals uncontested goals so they finished 4-3.

Then they went to CBJ where nearly the same happened--Kings went up 1-0--except in this case the wounds came with 3 goals against in less than a freaking minute. Somehow, despite being blown away the previous two games with untimely goals in bunches, they pulled it together, tied it and won in OT.

They then had to win a tight checking matinee in Buffalo, a game that was 1-0 till the very end, testing their goaltending and defense after the shitshow of the last week. They held on for a 3-0 win.

So, back to tonight--Kings were still outmatched, it was game 8 in 13 nights, they lost Arvidsson and Lemieux on this road trip, then lost Anderson and Doughty played with one hand tonight...so when the Bruins started asserting their game, it looked like a flashback of the previous game, with the Bruins just running dudes over with no response. I'm not sure what triggered it, but halfway thru the game it's like the Kings realized no one was going to feel sorry for them or at least stop hitting them, and pushed back a bit. They tied it once, then twice with half a minute left. Forbort made the smartest play of his career and fought Kempe at the buzzer, taking the Kings' best weapon out...then the secret weapon that gives no f***s about structured hockey came to play and the Kings won.

it really did look like the Kings' season was about to go off the rails right there before correcting.

Just finished the game, looked like Kempe got tangled up with McAvoy off-camera late on in the third. Fans reacted pretty strongly, but no replay was shown. Guessing that had Forbort more upset than him just deciding to try and get Kempe off the ice.

Anyway, that was a display of some big, meaty clackers right there. They had every excuse in the world to cave in, but they met this one head on. Great effort.

The teams are so similar, still blame that game on the two terrible goals that just deflated them.

True and LiasA too
I'm not so sure about Lias..

Anyone thinking this means more opportunity for forward kids is probably in for a disapointment

Kopitar 23 min tonight
Grundstrom less than 9

D was weird, due to drew, never thought i'd see our top two guys being matt roy at 27 and Durzi at nearly 25.

Wait so I missed the game but did I hear this right, Doughty and Anderson left the game?

I wouldn't be surprised if Kempe said something to AA prior to OT, like telling him to stick it up their asses. He was pretty fired up when he skated over.
Forbort thing was bs - he felt like McAvoy got slew footed by AK - but i saw the replay and it was an awkward fall wasnt Kempes fault.. So then dumb box of rocks goads Kempe into a scrap - which is a win for Boston keeping Kempe off the ice in OT. Hockey gods said f you Forbort W goes to LAK

Doughty was kinda cradling his right hand half the game. He was wincing and flexing his hand open on the bench. Hope it's not serious since he remained in the game or knowing DD, since Mikey was out already he didn't want the team to be down another dman.

Kings have so much talent in Ontario - with all these injuries I feel like theres a good chance for 1 or more of these guys to step in and surprise us like Durzi did. Spence, Vilardi, Fagemo, Turcotte

I bet Lias is called up and is the one not dressed vs SJ Thursday..unless draws in for Grundstrom or JAD. Carl had a good game, for the measly 9 minutes he got. Could have used him more, in such a physical game. If Mikey is out, then Moverare probably draws in.

Hopefully, Drew is ok. I hope Arvidsson and Lemieux heal up fast and can both be ready...not sure about Anderson. Was it a rib? The way he was bending over in pain.

8 of next 10 at home and the 2 road games are SJ and Vegas, so if players from Ontario needed, can be local.

I was shocked by the win....because of a fluke. I watched until about the halfway point and had to take an important call. Turned tv off.
An hour later, I turned it on and tried to click the DVR resume where it left off and saw the live feed - I looked away and clicked play on dvr.
But swear I thought I saw LA 1 BOS 3 , in that 1/8th of a second, I tried not to see the screen....was pissed, but I decided to watch and EXPECT a 3-1 loss.
I was confused a little, when we tied it at 2. Made the victory even sweeter...I was expecting the
empty netter, for the LA 1 BOS 3 I thought I had for sure seen.
