I think some of you guys are waaaaaaay to critical of Zegras. This isn't his best game, but come on, he's on pace for a 65 point season in his age 20 season. I get it, the hype is a bit over the top but he does stuff with the puck and has vision that is elite. A lot of the same criticisms were made of Kane back in the day too, that he wouldn't be able to do it when the checking gets tough, etc. You can find gritty players throughout the draft, harder to find kids like this.

Nobody's saying he's a bad player. He's having a bad game, and tonight highlights some of his shortcomings.

* Kings have a simple offensive game plan: Shoot the puck often, which most are from the outside. Team is looking for deflections, rebounds, or screens with seeing eye shots.

We didn't add any top-6 talent, but the Kings did with two 28-year olds in FA C Denault (6-year contract @ $5.5 mil AAV) and traded for F Arvidsson (3-years @ $4.25 mil AAV). Leonardo87 : Kings are looking to still contend with this older experienced core. Wouldn’t be shocked if they try and go all in this year or close to it. I say F’ing let them. Ducks should just continue on their path of rebuilding and lock up their pending UFAs they feel can help not just now but in the future.
Hockey Duckie : With the talent pool the Kings have amassed, I think they can go get more players for a playoff run - especially since their prospects aren't doing much. Whereas the Ducks youth are taking the lead for the team and running with it. I agree with keeping the path of rebuilding and continuing the trend of layering vets with youths for the future. If anything, we could use a lower round draft pick on a defensive-minded veteran LHD that could also PK with an extra year under contract.

Great game, was a little worried when the Ducks started with the trappiest trap of all time, so very glad we got on the board early and kept working hard.

Anze had a monster game. Drew too--quietly was just an absolute beast offensively and defensively. Vintage performance by those two.

Someone better mail TM the game tape so he can clockwork orange that shit while in protocol and see Grundstrom >>>>>>> AA.

Quick had a very strong game too, wasn't called upon to be crazy too frequently, but he was focused, thankfully. Ducks didn't get in much but they did get some quality. We needed a big goalie game for once.

loved all the guys getting spicy, too. Notice Durzi was standing right by Lemieux when it looked like the shit might hit the fan. Obviously you don't want Sean picking a fight with Carrick or DLo but he was right there and willing.

Special teams came thru, whoa, is that what that looks like? Doesn't wreck a game? Finally.
