The irony of Ducks fans saying Quick is a whiner/has an attitude he can't back up when their goalie has quit on his own team the last few seasons...

That's not even mentioning that Quick will NEVER throw a teammate or the team in general under the bus in media scrums, whereas Gibson makes the same types of comments they used to skewer Doughty for.

Hayward and Ahlers were in all their glory too.

Ahlers accused Quick of "Lifting up Carrick's skate" when it was quite clearly Carrick who initiated the contact with Quick's pad. I wouldn't call it a kick, but it did piss off Quick enough to get him going.

Then after the 2nd goalie interference penalty (which was a penalty) Hayward started calling for Gibson to start flopping to try and draw penalties. Just embarrassing stuff.

I wish tonights game had been on TNT. No matter which way you went you had homer broadcasters and bad score bugs :thumbd:

Kaliyev looks bigger and stronger by the week. He'll never be a great skater, but he his skating and speed has improved so much the past 2 years.
I thought he must be 21 by now, but not until June. He's going to be such a force, by 23. He's been so good on the boards. Nothing against Lizotte or Lemieux, they've played well....but wait until he has Kopi or Byfield getting him pucks as a steady diet.

And you spent every minute of it telling me I was wrong and coming up with excuses for the lack of production. (remember the viral infection freshman year?). Has my evaluation of the player in the Fall of 2019 been mostly right, or mostly wrong?

Yes, players who score and have a skillset like that are more valuable to a team, it is why they are generally drafted higher and paid more. But you think one player is still better than the other, you said as much last year so you obviously value the grit more than the skill, I disagree but you can think what you want. Just pointing out the narrative that skilled players can't play their game in the playoffs has largely been proven false but is still driven as fact here.

That's great, but none of that addresses the idea that we were literally just criticizing one game. One game. That's it. Not his whole career, not saying he's gonna flop in the playoffs, not saying he sucks and is done growing. Just "Trevor Zegras had a bad game" and now you're responding to all sorts of made-up claims.

Kempe is over .5 GPG. Who was the last King to have .5GPG over a full season. Was it Ziggy Palffy?
I think that would be Carter. 26 goals in 48 games in 2012/13.

But that was a shortened season.

Palffy did it in back to back seasons in 2000/01 and 2001/02. He accomplished this in the clutch and grab era, so it's very impressive.

So it's only happened 3 times for the Kings this century.

As a duck fan that generally watches the opposing teams broadcast because I don’t care for Hayward(who admittedly has gotten better over the years), fox and edwards are the worst…. And that has nothing to do with fox being kings guy as I was a big fan of bob miller

You're preaching to the choir here — Faust and Fox are brutal! We went from one of the best to ever call the game to whatever this is. Evans and Nickson are great on the radio, I wish they would just call the games on TV. Such a bummer.

And beyond shocking, when you consider their special teams are among the league's worst.
That plus they've only had 2 or 3 functioning lines on most nights. Their collective goalie save percentage is near the bottom of the league, and they've been barely a .500 team at home.

I think they have a losing record in OT and SO also, I could b wrong about that though.

It certainly doesn't feel like they've been that good.

Ducks suck at hockey! Zegras looking great getting shown up by Grundstrom, sitting in the box & getting flattened all game.

Missed this one tonight. Looks like Kempe has the hottest stick in the Pacific right now. Gibson seemed ready for a trade.

A very impressive and assertive pounding of the ducks. Very surprised. Keep it up against the ducks and sharks and we have a guaranteed spot in the playoffs

Sometimes I look at this team and I'm like yeah, 2010 Kings. Will take off and get 100 points and get wiped in the playoffs but learn valuable lessons.

Then I look at some of the VERY correctable issues and I'm like, are these guys 2012-ing?

The strength of schedule/home games certainly 'favor' them but it almost seems like they need against-all-odds to show. The special teams are junk. The goalies fell off after being hot, so we started winning games differently. They sucked against the west, and at home. A lot of those things are sloooowly trending in the right direction....at exactly the right time. Can you imagine if the special teams catch fire in March, or if a Grundstrom-Byfield-Brown line really starts firing, or if some 'little' trade (Boeser?) or BIG trade (JT Miller?) happens to really throw things up?

Not advocating for said trades at all--I guess I"m just saying this team started the year needing a FULL systems rehab/makeover, like a new engine and exhaust, but have since moved to a team needing only minor adjustments...to a spot where we may only need a small tweak to push it this year and reallly come out as a Ferrari next year.

Maybe I’m out to lunch here but if we can trade for JT Miller, keep Byfield and Clarke, and get to roll Kopitar, Danault, and Miller in the playoffs, sign me the f*** up. Developing prospects is great but if we can acquire a guy like Miller and give up something line Kupari, Grans, and a first, I’m in. Let’s grab Soucy while we’re at it and we’ve got a cup contender.

Iafallo - Kopitar - Kempe
Moore - Danault - Arvidsson
Byfield - Miller - Brown
Lemieux - Lizotte - Kaliyev

Anderson - Doughty
Bjornfot - Roy
Soucy - Durzi

try what lmfao? is that your response because you are going to ignore the actual statement? He's taken a mediocre roster to 2nd in the division and your argument is "don't" LOL

Some don't know how to discuss.

As for the "keep TMac on protocol" statement - I didn't say it, and I don't subscribe to it.

Overall, though, there's a frustration with some of his decisions. Namely the way rookies are utilized and the over-usage of vets.

Great result. Kempe has really put it all together hasn’t he? Disagree with Fox saying Byfields pass was a ‘no look’ situation. He had his head up all the way and knew exactly where Grundström was going to be.

I’ve given my views on AA repeatedly, since the second we resigned him, so I’m not going to repeat, but does anyone seriously think it was Yawney that made the decision to sit AA. Unless I didn’t realise Covid protocol means you have no access to your phone, TMac will have made all the lineup decisions and the game strategy around things like matchups and deployment. Yes Yawney will have made in game adjustments but TMac will have been talking to him in the intervals also, at least. I’m sure some of the comments were tongue in cheek, but they weren’t all. It’s not as if we’ve been on a terrible run and then tonight Yawney changed that. TMac has something to do with our form and with the level of buy in he’s getting I’d say quite a lot to do with it, even if I don’t agree with all his lineup/deployment decisions.
